The majority of my family went to see this movie. I was amazed that my 3 year old sat still! Action was prevalent throughout the whole movie, keeping everyone interested. The cg in the movie was seamless and everything in the movie felt and looked real! The music of the movie blended it all together really well too. My 58 year old mother, was actually interested in the movie too. I only mention her interest, because she was very skeptical, that she would enjoy the movie, before we left. Overall great movie, that you won't leave the theater feeling like you paid too much for.

My sons and I waited for this movie and it didn't disappoint. Learning the back story on many of the characters was interesting and realistic. The action kept coming-lots of fight scences interlaced with the building of friendships and alliances.My only complaint- once the Xmen triumped as it was... I felt Magneto was slotted into the bad guy role too easily with not enough plausible why? I also missed some of the older characters. But all in all keep those sequels coming!

My family and I really enjoyed this one. It's interesting to learn the origins of the team and the characters' backstories. The cast was fresh; Michael Fassbender is terrific. The effects don't disappoint, and SO glad it's not in 3D! That is getting overused (in my opinion) and the film studios seem to forget that there's a segment of the population who can't see 3D, don't like it because it makes them ill, or just don't want to pay that much money for a ticket. Go see this one!

I am a big fan of the X-men movies with my favorites being Wolverine and Storm. I was impressed with the new characters and the imagination that created the Beast. Kevin Bacon was a convincing villain and I thought many of the story lines matched well with the existing history we already knew. The only one that seemed to lack something was the history of Magnito. I understand his brutal past, but he had an opportunity to get passed that and be part of something bigger. He chose to be evil for evil's sake and I felt that was weak when matched to the other character's histories. As a whole, this was a great movie, very entertaining, and filled with wonderful special effects.

This movie was good not great. For me it jumped around a lot and was a little disjointed. I think the casting was spot on for Prof. X and Magneto. The dialog between these 2 characters was perfect. I always wonder what makes them use certain characters like "Angel". Her character sucked and watching her fly made me want to scream. They seem to never get that right with the female characters. All in all a good movie to see to get more background on the X-Men.

I'm a huge fan of X-Men and was a bit worried that this movie wouldn't live up to my expectations. But I was very wrong...it was a great movie! Acting by the main characters was superb, which is not always the case in an action film. A few parts did not match up with bits in the other movies, but for the most part it was pretty seamless. Of course the movie was entertaining enough for us adults, but truly, if this is what the rating system is calling age 13 appropriate....WOW, how things have changed. Parents of your 11 and 12 year olds please be warned. I am almost always okay with the super hero movies of this rating (with the exception of the second Transformers movie which was pure smut). If we hadn't been cram packed in the middle of a sold out theater, we would have gathered up our kiddos and left. My 12 year old now knows about prostitution, lap dances, young girls selling their bodies, bondage, etc. He also got a good look at about 20 women dressed in their sensual underwear parading around for drunken men. A good, close up, long look. He turns 13 next month. I wouldn't have allowed him to see this movie for YEARS. Shame on me for staying.

This movie was AWESOME...I agree it was a bit slow moving, but there was soooo much to get in there. The dynamic between Professor X and Magneto and how they both become those two characters is wonderful...I thougth their acting was fantasic, the others were off....not so great. Wife and I took grandson to see X-Men: First Class. He has been eagerly awaiting this movie and (age 8) is a big fan of its predecessors. We were pleasantly surprised at a really good story with a history of relationships and conflicts. The action was good and did not overpower the storyline. I would recommend it to any Marvel comic fan, super hero fan or action flick fan for that matter.

Best summer movie so far. New young cast giving top-notch performances. Script was good with some lines that made me smile. With a lot of characters, the movie retained it's focus on Magneto and Professor X, with the trade-off of somewhat sketchy, but believable secondary characters. But it would have been a much longer movie otherwise! Well done portrayal of the classic ambiguous relationship between Magneto and the Prof. Sound track was truly excellent. Bought the mp3 download as soon as I got home from the movie.

This movie was great! It took us on the journey of how our X-men came to be what they are today. The cast was great along with the plot line. I hope there is a second prequel as to what happens to those X-men whom we encountered in this one but do not see in the recent ones. I enjoyed X-men and how they developed the start for most of the characters. They set it up for the Trilogy for sure. Great battle sequences and mixed with humor it was alot of fun. After another strong week this movie has staying power and I would go back to see it again. My daughter loved it and wants to go again.

Good Story, answered the questions, but not nearly as good as the others. Though everyone laughed at the "F" bomb from Wolverine shows more how the depravity of our society now thinks what we used to consider as appalling is now funny.

Some said that it was like a James Bond movies since the director had done some JB movies. Really fresh, good story, more than just special effects. Really enjoyed it.

Overall, we liked the movie. Charles Xavier was cast very well, very likable. Magneto was a good mixed-up bad guy, having a hard time resolving his past anger. The blue girl, Mystique, was the most troubling for me. She had a hard start to her life, a vagrant child going from house to house, stealing food, apparently not wanted by her parents. Then Charles is so nice to her, and they are like brother and sister for YEARS. But this does not change her inside. She still wants to be "mutant and proud," which can be translated: "mutant and still angry after all these years." She could have and should have changed. In the end, it seems the strong ones are the ones who side with Magneto, and you'd be stupid and weak to go with Charles. Truly, Charles is the one with all the strength, inner and outer, because he has control over his anger. But the movie does not draw this line clearly. Thus, we are left confused about who is really good and who is really bad, like the line is fuzzy, which is a sad commentary on our society where we honor relativism over true strength of character.
