My daughter and I loved it! A lot of humor and fun. We laughed a lot and really enjoyed the action. Some of the events were a surprise, but that was good.

This was an excellent movie. The adults that went loved it as well as the children! I would not take a young child to this we had a six and eight year old with us. I think 5 and under would be a bit scared! Enjoy!

This was a fantastic movie. The art in it was breathtaking.
I love that this is a story about a princess and it doesn't require a prince to save her, lead her, tell her how to fix her situation.
My daughter is 3, and all she has talked about since this movie came out is Merida. She covered her eyes during the scarier bear scenes, but she has forgotten all about that and only cares about Merida.
She can't wait to see it again.
Go see this you won't be sorry!

This is an awesome movie. It brought tears to my eyes knowing that the mother and daughter realized that they couldn't live without each other. Its the bond with the mother and daughter moral of the story. I LOVED IT!!!! Even my daughter had tears in her eyes.

I took my two little girls to this movie and we were all in tears. The story line between a mother and daughter was so heart wrenching. I loved it! There was also enough humor to keep it entertaining! Definitely want to see it again!

We went with our kids and grandkids (ages 3-8) and we all LOVED it!! There were a couple of loud parts that kind of startled them, but nothing that they were afraid of. We went twice this weekend and I can't wait to see it again.We saw it in digital not 3D, and it was still great. The colors were vibrant , the detail was amazing, and the characters were very well thought out and portrayed excellently.

Really wonderful movie. Characters are great,visual effects are a feast for the eyes and the music is perfect. There were some violent scenes and my 7 year old granddaughter was frightened at times,so I would not recommend taking very young children. But definitely think it will be another Disney Pixar classic.

When I first heard of Brave I wasn't sure what to expect with Disney--more whiny princesses who are looking for their one true love, maybe. I was pleasantly surprised by the twist. A young woman who was just learning how to communicate with her parents, and a set of loving parents who just wanted the best for the girl. It showed my kids a lesson in manners, modesty, and respect for one another. A better movie than last two season's other Disney offerings. It's a great family movie, and we can't wait to have it for our collection.

Brave is a movie that seems in such a hurry to please it's audience that it doesn't take any time to build it's overall mood. The problems with this film are myriad. The comedy continually relies on cliched jokes that seem typical of children's films, but not of the Pixar standard. Gone is the inventiveness of films like The Incredibles and Up. The world here doesn't feel as lived in as their previous efforts. The rules of the magic that governs the main thrust of the story feels very tacked on and like it belongs maybe in another film. The biggest sin here is the ham-handedness with which the central relationships are handled. Everyone's motivations seem so one note and uncomplicated. The characters have not been properly drawn out by the storytellers and as a result peoples motivations boil down to "I don't want to do it" and "You have to because it's tradition". If you haven't seen those same robotic and boring motivations used in so many love stories since the beginning of time then you haven't been paying attention. And this is coming from a movie that is apparently priding itself on breaking tradition.
Where this film does succeed is in the small moments when it takes it's time and builds up to a proper payoff. It actually creates some genuine scares and some real heart pumping action from time to time. It also manages to mine some real tender emotion every now and again which will sustain anyone bothered by the aforementioned problems. There seems to have been so much potential in this world that was created that one wishes maybe one or two more revisions had been undertaken by the Pixar crew. Who knows, maybe they'll mine the best parts of the story for the sequel.

Pixar has graduated from just making kids movies that entertain adults to creating movies with stories that allow you to forget the animation by getting swept up in the actions and emotions of the lead characters. This movie displays the real depth of talent it takes to make a great story sing!

As a nanny, I see a lot of kids movies. It's been along time since I've walked away from an animated movie feeling the way I do. Great movie. I took my boyfriend to see it and he actually teared up.

It's no surprise that the animation in this film is stunningly beautiful.
Beside being a lively and very fun send-up of Scottish culture, this film gets very real and remarkably touching.
We are invited to take an honest look at the inevitable conflict and rebellion that comes with adolescence and burgeoning adulthood. In this case, between mother and daughter.
While very dramatic and exciting, we can all relate to the characters experiences.
Best of all, in the end, the message is that young people should take their time in making major life decisions until they are truly ready and for the best reasons.
THIS IS HUGE!!! Well done, Disney.

I would not recommend to any parent who is concerned with violence. It also touches on some mother child issues that are scary as well. The main character almost loses her mother. I am 44 years old and was crying badly due to the fact that I lost my mom and issues were close to the heart for me. My children went through the process of seeing me lose my mom and it scares them to think about losing me. This movie had my 10 yr old crying in my arms when we got home because he was scared of losing me.. NOT GOOD IN MY OPINION. Not to mention the fighting and the scary bear and the weapons. Disney should have rated this movie differently PG13 more appropriate

This is a great addition to the Disney princess family, what a movie not only was the music and art style beautiful but the historical background of it was magnificent as well. I will probably be seeing this one again . La Luna the short before the film, was a cute one as well. A very funny and sweet short.
