Big Mommas was as funny as the original. Usually when you have a series of movies, it gets old(going for the same ole laughs). This Big Momma took what made the original funny, but updated it. Very good. This movie is definitely for the young to the old. I would recommend this movie to family and friends.

Martin Lawrence's fat suit isn't the only thing getting threadbare in the Big Momma franchise.
Big Momma -- the undercover guise-of-choice for FBI agent Malcolm (Lawrence) -- is no longer in "da house." Out of his/her culturally stereotypical element, there's only so much the writers can think of to do with a morbidly obese sight gag. Bust a table while busting a move, pose nude for an art class (with an artfully placed towel to hide his/her junk), etc.
The solution: Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (get it? It's plural now) sets up shop in a girls' High School for the Arts, and steals riffs from the likes of Mean Girls, The House Bunny, White Chicks and High School Musical. It doesn't say much for the comic energy of a movie when the closest thing to a funny scene (debatable) is two heavy people playing Twister. And ham-fisted director John Whitesell -- whose race-comedy debacles date back to Malibu's Most Wanted -- can't even pull that off with any aplomb.
Unless he really needs the money, the best thing Martin Lawrence can do at this point is to sell his Big Momma suit to Tyler Perry or Eddie Murphy. God help us, one or both of them are probably warming up for another fat-fest at this very moment.

Martin Lawrence is very talented and funny. The movie gets silly at times and it has a decent story. However, it is missing something. Halfway through the film you start to feel that the movie turns from being a comedy flick to a love story. It is entertaining if you like the 'Big Momma" flicks.

My two teenagers and I went to see this fun movie~!! I thought I wouldn't care for it . If you have seen one you have seen them all!! Well wrong!! It made us all laugh and laugh and laugh.!! It was worth seeing! I was even laughing when the man behind me that was very old couldn't stop laughing. I think he may have had to hurry to the bathroom while he was laughing.. Or a new commercial for depends for men!!

The only reason I went to see this is my 9 year old son wanted to see it. It was so bad that halfway through he was asking to go play the video games in the lobby. I like Martin Lawrence but this should have been a direct to DVD, I thought it would never end , there was maybe 2 actually funny parts. Worst movie I've seen in awhile.

As always Martin Lawrence is hilarious. Faizon is a good comedian as well. I enjoyed the young man who played the son. This tagteam made the movie even funnier. Cudos to 20th Century Fox. Outstanding job to the writers and producers.

I guess I was watching a different movie than the rest of the reviews here. I felt movie was too preditable, slow and was only entertaining when the new young talent sang. I would recommend that Big Momma sit in the audiance next time.

Don’t need a momma to tell me this movie is funny. Trent’s out of high school and he got a letter that he is accepted into Duke University. Trent would rather be a rapper by the name of Prodi-G. So one day he’s approached by a record label but the contract needs a guardian’s signature since he’s only 17. Malcolm (Martin Lawrence) doesn’t sign the paper since he thinks it would be better if Trent (Brandon T. Jackson) stays in school. So Trent follows Malcolm on a stake-out to see if he can force him to sign the record contract, but finds himself witnessing a murder by a Russian bad guy. Malcolm has a plan to hide the both of them until they catch the murder at the Georgia Girls School of the Arts. Hilarious. All around great comedy/crime story for all ages, but it is pg-13. I think this one is the funniest out of the franchise. I think people will now have confidence in watching another Martin Lawrence Film. Loved it 4 out of 5 stars

I thought Big Momma pt.3 has its moments. Martin Lawrence's character going all out to protect his stepson. Brandon T. Jackson was very convincing as a girl. As typical he falls for the most beautiful girl on campus who has some self-confidence issues. Very good movie overall.

We took our teenager with us and we all found the movie to be funny and engaging for all! The movie was much more appropiate for pre-teens and teenagers, but as a Martin fan, my husband and I enjoyed it as well. Must see if you desire a good laugh!
