I took 3 friends with me and we all really loved this movie. The scenery was spectacular; and the photography was unbelieveable! We liked the 'gentleness' of the hunt and chase and thought it suitable for all ages. I would definitely recommend this to others.

This was a great movie. I saw this movie with my Dad and my 7 & 6 year old kids. We ALL loved it! Three generations of avid movie goers and we all enjoyed it. The trailer was correct when it said you laugh, cry and follow the characters like any other Disney story. We are already looking forward to Disney's next animal movie, Chimpanzee's coming out in 2012!

The movie was a very beautiful and touching story and being an avid animal lover of all kinds I am so thrilled that I went and that i was able to do my part to try and save their natural habitat. My wife and I took our 8 year-old granddaughter to the movie for her birthday. We were initially a little nervous regarding some of the chase and catch scenes, wondering if it would be a little too graphic for our 8 year-old. But all of those scenes were treated with class and we would highly recommend the movie for all ages.

I brought 5 ten year old girls to the movie. They enjoyed it, but about 2/3 of the way through, they asked what time it was... So the movie lacked a bit of action. The babies were absolutely adorable and somehow I didn't feel like I got enough of them. The information was fascinating and the girls learned a lot. The producers did a great job of dealing with life and death of the animals so that it was not sad when creatures died to become another animal's food. That was impressive. The movie will be just as good on a small screen and I would definitely recommend it as a summer rental.

The cinemaphotography of the African Plains was beautiful. While I realize that there is the survival of the fittest in the animal world, I had a hard time staying for the whole movie. In all ways this movies was tastefully done, but I had a difficult time sitting through the whole movie. I would not recommend that children see this movie. I probably will not see the next nature movie that Disney releases.

Having grown up in Africa, camped near the Masai Mara, and spent many days and nights in the Serengeti ecosystem, I have to say that this movie took my breath away, with the sheer beauty of the cinematographers' art. The story was sweet, the gore absent, the animals majestic, but the beauty of the plains, the skies, the rains, the sunsets…don't miss this one.

I liked the photography. The panoramic views of the African Masai mara plains were spectacular. The study of the two dominant cat species in the area was well done. The other wildlife that populates the reserve added to the story of the african ecosystem. The only dissapointment! Where is the 3D? This film would have been so much better in 3D! Someone dropped the ball!

I brought my 5-year-old twin boys to see this movie on Earth day. One enjoyed it very much. The other thought it was a bit loud. They were surprised to see animals being eaten, but I thought it was important for them to see how real animals live. There were some other tense moments, but there was a good story and the animlas and landscape were beautiful. I thought it was a great movie for educating children about the big cats.

My nine year old son and I saw this movie and loved it. Of course there were deaths and some graphic scenes but Hello this is nature. I loved seeing the bonds between the families. I never knew how loving the cats can be among their prides.
There were small children in the theater with us and they even loved it.
To parents that don't realize this is real life then don't bring them to a movie like this.

While I assumed there would be some hunting and survivalist realities, my 6-year-old and I were not quite prepared for all the sadness in this film: A mother lion who left her cub and pride to die on her own (this made my son cry), 2 cheetah cubs who were killed by hyenas (inferred, not explicitly shown), and 4 bullying male lions who drove an older male from his pride... This was on top of all the stalk and kill scenes. Definitely NOT a "feel-good" movie for little kids. :(

overall a great documentary, however the G rating was not accurate. lots of graphic details. I believe that it is an important issue to raise with children but not all ages which is what G indicates.

Our 9 year old wanted to be sure we saw this on Earth Day and we did! All three of us loved it. We do watch a lot of these types of shows at home and found it great to be in a theater watching it.
There is obviously some killing to eat, but that is nature. I also loved the message of family bonds!

I adored it -- our teenaged kids liked it too. Of course, the movie covers the nature of wild lions and cheetahs (which have to eat), so if you think your little one would not like watching an animal get caught and eaten.... that's up to you.
It is almost like a "Mother's Day" movie -- talks a lot about the love of a mom for her babies. :) I'd watch it again.

As always,Disney comes through with a magnificent story. But this movie hopefullly goes much deeper than that. The animals depicted, the lions and cheetah, are fighting a desperately hard battle against potential extinction. If we all don't help, these animals may not exist in the wild for very much longer. It's imperative that people see this in all it's raw beauty and realize how precious these animals are and that we must do whatever we can to save them.

This movie is wonderfully shot and absurdly Disney-fied. The personification of the animals and their behavior (plus a script that seems to recycle the same few lines - Earth Day for writers?) is, at times, laugh-out-loud silly.
Forty-four minutes on a TV hour would be more than enough of this - and free!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Wonderful and accurate depiction of the animals of the Masai Mara! I was there on safari years ago, felt like I was back again.
When we went many young children in audience, from previous experience I knew that some "actions" could be graphic, pretty well edited, however I don't think a G rating was appropriate. Outstanding photography

This was an amazing movie that was able to capture some of the drama that occurs in nature. The creators literally spent years collecting the incredible footage that went into telling this story. Warning: there is a lot of fighting (some serious and some not) and hunting (all serious). The editors did a nice job of not showing of the actual killing, but there is a little eating and the message is clear. This may not be appropriate for some children who are sensitive. Overall, this was REALLY exceptional, though, and worth seeing at any age.

Except for a few little kids it seems everyone was into it.Just a note-I wonder if parents thought it was a real movie like the Lion King-I am thinking it is not really for little kids. I would say 8 an above. Now-the movie.It kept you on the edge of your seat.Sam Jackson did a nice job.I have been to the MASAI MARA in KENYA many times.I could relate to all of it.My Kenyan wife loves her Cheetahs-she wants to go see it again-WE WILL :)
