If I had seen this movie in 2010 I would have said it was the best movie I had seen all year! I loved every minute and at the end I was sorry it was over! Must see, Not sure why it received an "R" rating. We took my grandson and although the language was a bit rough the movie's message was a good one for a young person.

The King's Speech should become a movie that stands the test of time and becomes a classic because of superb acting -- Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush would both be excellent choices for a best actor Oscar -- in a great production.
I wondered about the film's R rating until I saw it. It does contain some "raw" language that some may find offensive; however, the "offensive" words are by no means used in a salacious manner. If the R rating draws some to see The King's Speech who would not have otherwise, so much the better.
This movie has earned its niche in my all time favorites.

This film is one of the best I've seen for a long time. It is a good story well told, and it works on many different levels. The touching relationship that develops between the King and his therapist is only one aspect of the story. The film also either hints at or outright shows the gulf between Royalty and the common man. At the same time, it suggests the challenges, personal and professional, of being brought up royal.Bottom line, this is a film of the first order. Do not miss it!

I am not one of those people who is entranced by royalty, but this film was such a great character study of King George VI and made him and the queen so human that I really enjoyed it. Colin Firth was wonderful--both regal and vulnerable. His acting was so elegant. The rest of the cast was great as well, especially Geoffrey Rush. And it was great to see Claire Bloom again. See this. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I saw this movie yesterday and we were both very happy that we chose to see it. It was a great movie start to finish. Wonderful movie about a man's triumph over his personal flaws. Best movie I can remember seeing in the theatre in a long time.
