The latest fad in Hollywood seems to be the "why are we doing a remake?" remake. Remakes are nothing new, of course, and can be worthwhile when a memorable film has been tarnished by dated film-making techniques. But, besides 3-D, there really haven't been any major innovations since the 2002 version of Spiderman that would justify a remake. I didn't think the addition of 3-D was enough to justify remaking the movie, nor did I find this one quite as captivating as the Tobey McGuire version.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The actor plays a much more believable awkward Peter Parker. And a much more believable immature superhero.
Cinematics are awesome. There is some very high quality acting happening even thought the sequences are some what predictable for any spiderman fan. Which speaks to the closeness of the story line.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It was almost like watching a rerun of the first Spiderman movie. Don't spend the extra cash to get the 3D it's not worth it. I'm glad I didn't run out the first night like I usually do Did not live up to my expectations. I think the Spidey francise needs a rest.

I went to Spider-Man mainly because my husband wanted to see it. I was expecting the great special effects, but I didn't expect such a good story and all the background family stuff that really humanized it.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

Great effects! Great fun to see on the big screen! Not inappropriate for kids but does have some monster and jumping out, which is the fun part for kids unless they get scared of big green monsters and spiders. :) Exactly what it should be,..a great Spiderman story!

This movie blows Toby Maguire's movie out of the water! Loved it! Glad to see it at midnight and in 3D! Wow!
Mobile Ya crowd and myself went to see Spider man. I must say it is a great way to spend the evening and your money is not wasted. There was a lot of action but the anticipation was can Andrew Garfield who plays Spiderman live up to Peter Parker played by Toby Mcquire in previous Spiderman movies? Yes. Is this Spider man as good as the others? Yes.
I must admit at first I thought the movie was a rerun and was beginning to feel disappointed because it starts from the beginning of how Peter Parker became Spiderman and was a little slow and not much different than the old Spiderman movies. Andrew seem to be struggling at the beginning of the movie with his acting skills but after a while things picked up and moved as expected. The movie was really good and Andrew passed the test which was a difficult one. Congrats. He had help from his girl friend Gwen played very very well by Emma Stone who was a step up from the old Spider man girlfriend. Captain Stacy played by Denis Leary is a veteran favorite actor. He is Gwen's father and police captain. Dr. Conners (Rhys Ifans) became an evil giant scary out of control Lizard. He was fantastic and liven up the movie. He and Spider man open a can of whoop butt and the best fight scenes I've seen in a while. If you love special effects like I do, then you will love the movie. My teenagers gave the movie a 6 because the the first start seem the same as the old Spider man and a little slow and long. The 3D saved the day for them. Now the preliminaries are out of the way we await the next Spider man with fresh adventures.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I can only imagine Stan Lee applauding this move, watching this movie in 3D is a must as it brings this comic book hereo to life , the story line is pretty much what you would expect from Spider Man so there are no surprises; all in all a thumbs up at it had my attention the entire movie. PS Nice to see Sally Field, Martin Sheen and even Dennis Leary in their supporting roles.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this version! Different take with Gwen Stacy instead of Mary Jane, but it sticks to the high school age of Peter Parker. I enjoy the idea that Parker "makes" his own webbing instead of the Toby Maguire version where it just comes out of him. Growing up reading the Amazing Spiderman, I had standards of seeing what was in the comics. I was surprised to see who played uncle Ben and aunt May, but Martin Sheen and Sally Field work out pretty well! Don't forget to stick around for the normal Marvel ending after the credits!
Pros well paced, great story
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Amazing Superman was a great movie, but skip the 3D version,
The special effects in this movie were a real let down. With what should have been a big budget production, you could see corners being cut, and some real bad 3-D animation. This is one of those movies where the actors could've shined, but since the 3-D effects were so terrible I ended up remembering that more than the terrific acting in the film.
