from Bangkok, Thailand originally from Germany
The tour is taking you into the lobby of the theater where you get information when it has been build, information about the original equipment, why there are replacements now, what happened to the original stuff etc. After that you can see the main theater hall in which the Oscar Event had been hosted several times in the past - and also - information about movie premieres. This is impressive. You can sit for a short time in the theater and get an impression how it must be, to take part into the first time a movie has been played. About the celebrities, movie stars, producers and directors who sit there, several times a year. And you get information about the technology. After that you have to go outside and upstairs. For handicapped or disabled there is an elevator available, really to recommend as the people care. Upstairs you see the lobby of the cinema number 6 which is one of the most modern cinemas I've ever seen in my entire life. And in the lobby there is also a little machine, giving you the feeling of the future. Cinema with effects. Not only noise and 3 D, but also vibration and moving seats. After cinema 6 you go outside the building and get information about the foot and hand prints of the celebrities. Most of them are quite historic, but some of them are new, as far as I remember 3 have been new. For example Cher and Richard Gere. I mean you can stand there and make the pictures yourself. But with a guided tour, you get headphones where you have an excellent quality of understanding your tour guide so even you are a little behind the main group you miss not even one sentence. Finally when you return the head set, you get a little key holder as a souvenir. I only give 4 instead of 5 stars, as the guy who was responsible for the online booking wanted a printed booking reservation. He did not accept either the reservation number nor informed that you could have given a credit card. As I am disabled I had to stand 10 minutes with my crutches in the rain and cold winter (12 Centi Grade) before the manager after my complaining helped me out of the trouble. It could have been perfect, but there is always something wrong and if it is only the guy who should give you the prepaid tickets. This has to be made better. However, our guide was a young lady, a trainee in her final steps before being a real tour guide. She has been a little nervous, but made it brilliant anyway. I can only say, she will be a great tour guide for Graumans Chinese Theater in the future. So all in all, a good tour.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
