I am a long time Trekie and loved every film, but this edition sets the standard. The characters for the most part are believeable and well acted. New Spock is great, but its hard to beat the old Spock.
The special efects are amazing. The story moves at an exciting fast pace.
As usual there are a few sequences that stretch the imagination...but just a few. Kirk's miraculous regen from massive radiation was a stretch, but you knew Kirk had to live on to seek new worlds. A very enjoyable way to spen a short Two Hours. This is the first Star Treck my wife also enjoyed. That's saying a lot as she is not a SF fan.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, believable

Awesome movie. It's a typical mission with a great story especially bringing Kahn into the picture. Although, if ur a trekky fan all missions are awesome. Good graphix not overdone. You can actually follow and see the action.

This movie is a MUST SEE for all true STAR TREK fans! I went expecting to see another Star Trek "wanna be" movie, but saw an excellent original movie that takes us back to the beginning, but in a refreshing way that introduces/reintroduces us to the original characters, superbly played by a cast that obviously spent a lot of time studying the way their character was portrayed by the actor playing that part in the original Star Trek series. And, they did NOT disappoint! The characters were recognizable, yet not contrived, and portrayed in a manner that made the transition totally believable. This is one of the best Star Trek movies to come out since the original series ended and perhaps even one of the best movies you will see this summer!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, followed original theme
Cons long but not overbearing!

Fast paced, action filled movie with something for everyone. Some of the characters are developed further from the 2009 movie, and there are plenty of nods to the original 1960's series for those looking for them.
My only complaint was that the baddie was a bit derivative as was a few key scenes later in the movie. Fans new to the Star Trek world may not care/know this, but as an old school fan, it was obvious. . If this was 100% original, then it would've received a full five stars from me.

The movie sure blended other movies of star trek, but you get the sense that this is at the begining of the saga. It's very confusing to one who has experienced this since the inception of star trek. It was very intertaining and full of action, the sence of the series is good for younger viewers who haven't experienced the saga before.
