Took the whole family, wife and three teenage kids. Everyone got into the movie and enjoyed it. Good sound track. Good story of reconciliation and hope. All the actors did a great job - drew us into the story even if glimpses of Wolverine kept appearing in my mind watching Hugh Jackman. Take your family - get some snacks - kick back and enjoy!

This was a great movie!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It took me back to the old Stallone movie Over the Top, with the father son bonding angle. Good story line, great action and graphics. This will be going in our home collection.

Yes, it is about robots fighting and yes there are some scary characters, but for the most part this one is great for the family. It is a true father/son movie. It will make you laugh, but you will also get a little teary. Hugh Jackman is awesome and the boy that plays his son is a breakout star.

Rocky meets Transformers. Instead of Apollo you have Zeus. Instead of a nearly washed up fighter you have an actually washed up fighter. Instead of Talia Shire you get Evangeline Lilly. All that's missing is Burgess Meredith.
Only the great special effects and fight scenes overcome the cartoon-ish characters and implausible plot points. To really enjoy this, bring a 12-year-old...or be one.

My husband and I took our 8 year old son (without his little sister!) to dinner and a movie to celebrate his good grades and all around good guy behavior. We let him choose the movie, and I was prepared to just kind of get through it by admiring Hugh Jackman, and maybe catch a little nap. Boy, was I surprised! I got all caught up in it, laughed, cheered, and yes, even cried a little.... My husband and son loved it too. There were some disturbing parts, but as other reviewers said, it opened up some good dialogue about the importance of making good choices and how you can end up in a bad situation when you deal with bad people, but how you can always turn it around if you are honest with people who care about you and let them help you. I think that even at 8 (and a half lol) he may have been a little too young for some of the scenes, but the action thrilled him and overall the lessons in it made an impact. The fact that we could talk about it after helped too. It was a good family film, for families with kids 10 and up.

Took my 6 year old son to see this and we both loved it. It opened up a few great conversations about bad people and trusting people. Hugh Jackman and Dakota Goyo were spectacular. It was funny, entertaining and heart warming. I would highly recommend it.

I took my 10 year old son to this movie, and we both really enjoyed it. There were times when I would look over and see him on the edge of his seat. As a full time single dad, it made me reflect on my relationship with my son as well. Beside the excitement of the fighting, it made me question whether there are things I could be doing differently. Overall a great movie that will make you think.

Real Steel was a real steal at winning over people's hearts! This entertaining story left the audience cheering and desiring more! My only complaint is I wanted more at the end. There were quite a few cuss words which could have been left out and probably gotten a PG rating and made it even more enjoyable for entire families. Other than that, the movie was flawless. It had a great story, acting, action, and everything that makes going to the movies, spending your hard-earned money, worthwhile. A young person commented on leaving, "that was the best $10.00 I've spent." I would have to agree. Go see Real Steel before it leaves the theaters.

As other reviewers have said, the movie does start of a little slowly, but as the movie progresses you realize this is for a reason...to make the ending even more climactic. I saw this movie 2 nights in a row, simply because it brought tears to my eyes at the end. Definitely a feel good movie with some incredible special effects. The edgy score by Danny Elfman was unlike anything I've ever heard him do for film scores. Also, you totally forget that a lot of the effects in the film are computer graphics and you really appreciate the fact that many of the effects and robots are actually real. This movie has the feel of Rocky, Transformers, and Karate Kid all rolled into one, and literally made people in the audience cheer! I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone.

Movie was good. Started with a person always after the money, who don't even think before doing and ended with a person who cares about his doings. Really good use of special effects when robot fights. I gave this 4 star as I didn't like the end of the movie.

Very original, unique, even thou futuristic it had a good plot and story line, Hugh Jackman was second to none and the kid Dakota was excelent, if you havnt seen it you are missing a very good movie.
