This is a movie you can take the kids to and have a little fun. I found myself a little bored by the end, and was tired after falling asleep in the Justin Timberlake movie, yawn, so I'm factoring that in. The robots were cool, for some reason this reminded me more of Stalllones futuristic movies (for production value) than it did of a robot Rocky. I had the rock em sock em robots as a kid and have bought the modern version for my kids (that don't work worth a darn) so I thought it was sort of cool, but a great movie? NO, but it was fun for what it was, a not so serious, semi sci fi fun time.

Hugh Hackman does a great job as a down and out fighter - Robots fighters have taken over boxing same sleezy boxing promoters as now but in the future.
The kid Dakota does a great job and you can really feel his connection with the robot and Hugh.
Tons of fun the fight scenes are very well done. Our audience cheered during the movie which made it even more fun. The last time an audience cheered was at Harry Potter when he finally killed Valdemort.
Fun stuff go enjoy - any ages will like it.

It has been several years since I left a theater thinking "wow that was awesome". Real Steel is one of the best movies of the last several years. Without being a spoiler, think Rocky I but with robots. Good human story, edge of your seat, some laughs, etc. Well done.

This movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. While most movies are lacking in some areas this one was great all around. It made you feel you'd, it had you on the edge of your seat and you really felt like you knew the characters. It was almost like a rocky movie with robots. I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. It has it's funny moments, some emotional moments and lots of action. I love Hugh Jackman so I knew it wold be good just because he was in it. I took my mom and my 11 and 9 year old to this movie and it was awesome. There was a lot of action and boxing robots. I thought it was neat at the end when Charlie was practically fighting Zeus by himself using Atom. My kids really got into this movie and so did my mom. Not usually my genre but took a few 11/12 year old's to see it. Perfect for them although the gratuitous violence was a bit much. It really got to me after a while. There was a scene in the beginning where a robot fought a bull and it was very disturbing to me to see the bull getting beat up. Only one human vs. human violent scene, but pretty brutal. I was even wincing during some of the robot vs. robot scenes. All in all I found it OK but for the average American who has a thirst for violence, it would probably be enjoyed more!

A really good movie. I liked Hugh Jackman and his son they were a good team for acting and in the movie. The robots were pretty cool and intense. I liked how Atom was the underdog and ended up being awesome. I liked all of the characters and the character development was good. The ending was alright but there were a lot of loose ends to tie up as well-that you don't really notice because of the ending. Overall a good movie. Go watch it if you haven't already it isn't outstanding but its a good watch and is worth whatever it is to get into the theater and the whole family can watch it.

This movie was so great I never saw my wife get into it with an actor the boy , guy or the robot and may be even the movie!!

This is a good movie. While not a unique storyline with respect to typical boxing movies, the story between the father and son is an honest one and with real dialogue. The result is a positive message that underlines that people are not perfect but we do the best we can with what we have.
Excellent performance by Hugh and Evangeline. Dakota Goyo does a surprisingly good job.

Awesome movie! Hugh Jackman does it again. This movie had many similarities to the ancient robot fighting game Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots and the final fight scene with Zeus was almost like they took the choreography from Rocky and transferred it to a new format. Overall this movie was the real deal Holyfield and then some!!
