When I was little, Lawrence of Arabia would come on tv, and people would talk about how great it was. I always assumed it wasn't my kind of movie (based on what, I don't know). I finally watched it on the big screen last night and I'm blown away by how excellent it was. Also, by how many issues it covers that are still relevant today. It's almost 4hours long and held my attention the whole time.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

I originally saw this film on a big screen in 1962. When you watch it now you're amazed that a picture this fabulous could have been made then. Its my all time favorite movie. It is a based on truth biography of an unusual British officer who attempts to unite Arab Bedouin tribes to fight against the Ottoman Turks circa First World War. Sounds like a war movie? Well its really a magnificent character study and actor Peter O'Toole's first cinema role. The film was restored about 15 years ago and is highly recommended. The cinematography is spectacular. It is a film that should be seen in a theater on a large screen to do it justice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

One of my favorites. I was born in 1982 so I never got to see it in its original release, this was the first time on the big screen. For any movie buff, go see it at a theater every chance you get!
