Rarely, if ever, do we see something "new," guess what this is new! The first 20 minutes confused me, as it was designed to, but from moment 21 on, I got it! The acting is superior, the production design is above anything I have ever seen, the story line is creative and touching.DiCaprio is all man, any hint of boy, has long been put away. Watanabe is always head and shoulders above the crowd, and his performance in this unusual story, is a work of art. The one to watch is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. This young actor has the making of one of the best of his generation. The camera is in-love with Gordon-Levitt during each and every frame. It is difficult to see anyone or anything else, when he is in-frame. INCEPTION is a sophisticated movie and has no equal. I cannot think of a single movie that is similar in any way. The CG aids in moving the story forward as opposed to being a special effect.

A must see in the theater. I was slightly disappointed in the affects... based on the trailer I thought we would see a few more. There were some really great scenes and climactic scenes were built to perfection. I'm sure I'll see it at least once more on the big screen... but more than likely... 2 or 3 more times. Thought provoking, visually gratifying, and overall... great entertainment for the $$'s spent.

I thought the concept was exciting. The commercial promised some different visual effects which I was a little disappointed at what the movie actually had to offer, I was hoping this was going to be in 3D too. Then it would have been better. It was difficult to follow at times and a little long. I'm not the type to complain about complexity of story line or long running times, so I guess this just didn't keep my interest very well. Sometimes I felt like screaming, "What? Why?" The ending left me unsatisfied, and after 2 and 1/2 hours long I deserved satisfaction. It tried to be a great film and ended up being okay. I was just glad to get out of the house. Oh, and I like watching Leo, he never disappoints. One more thing, IMAX is too loud!

Way too much information to process seeing it once. But, an extremely thought-provoking, well-written and superbly-acted movie. I do recommend it, both as a mental workout and also a visual and sonic treat. Saw it in IMAX and will probably see it next time on a normal size screen (basic theater).

I liked the movie. The time flew by as we were trying to follow the different levels of dreams. Get ready for a good mental workout!! I think they threw too much at us. The concept was good, but they could have gotten it across in a more controlled and less chaotic fashion.
I don't think it made a good IMAX movie. There was too much going on at too fast a speed to get the full IMAX effect. I think it would have been better on the smaller screen.

A very "busy" movie. It was hard to keep up with. I actually think it would have been better on a smaller screen, with the option of DVR to rewind some parts, because there was SO much going on! But, overall, the "idea" of the movie was good, as were the actors and the effects.

I fell asleep at a critical part of this movie, which would've helped me understand the story better. I understood the concept, which was intriguing, but I thought the way the story unfolded was a bit too slow (hence the zzzzzzs).
The graphics & special effects were nice (I thought "hm, hasn't this been done in like MATRIX????), but still I enjoyed them. In fact I think this is the principal attraction of the film.
I'm a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio. Marion Cotillard was exquisite. She's a fantastic actor. I adore Michael Caine's work. Ellen Page was okay, don't know get her attraction as an actor.
As for the IMAX experience, this was my first IMAX film viewing experience, and I don't think it significantly enhanced the movie viewing experience on THIS film. (Wish I'd seen Avatar on IMAX 3D). The sound was incredibly loud, which I didn't enjoy (got a headache). For some reason I thought the movie would be in 3D, as well (don't know how I got that mixed up).
Basically, I think the movie's worth seeing whether on an IMAX screen or normal screen. I don't think it's an exceptional film, but it's not a dog either.

The movie was intriguing but I still don't care for DiCaprio much. The scenes that showed the architect's creativity were good and the show could have used more in the 2 1/2 hours that we watched. The storyline with DiCaprio and wife drug on too much and could have been clarified earlier and left time for a better ending.

underdeveoped characters made many scenes seem tedious. I was never given enough reason to care for the characters. I wanted the battle to be over far sooner. The only characters that were properly developed were Leonardo's and his wife's. Leonardo's performance was great as usual, or I would have been tempted to walk out. This was by far one of the best movies we have ever seen! Amazing action, unbelievable plot, which was unforgettably executed!
Great acting by all! DiCaprio was fantastic!
As far as the IMAX experience, this was the first movie we have seen with IMAX and absolutely worth the price!
Would recommend this movie to all!

Wanted to like Inception but found it the script so contrived, so tedious it became unwatchable. I think the writer/director knew this and interspersed silly chase scenes every 15 minutes to keep the audience awake. The dialogue was downright laughable. "What do we do to wake from the dream?" one character asks. The other replies, "we'll have to use the kick!" I'm watching it thinking, that is about the dumbest movie device I've ever heard. Filled with dumb scenes of characters floating in a hotel. Maybe some people go to this kind of movie and have low expectations and are just happy with the visual stuff. Sorry, when I pay $10 (or $17 at IMAX) I expect a well written story. I read that the writer spent seven years on the script. The poor result shows he must have been asleep most of that time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This movie has a lot going on visually and IMAX makes that experience a lot more intense. The special effects come across with a lot more impact on the bigger screen and I certainly don't regret delaying my viewing until I could catch it on IMAX.
