Have seen Inception twice and have purchased the soundtrack. I thought the film was beautiful and very intelligently written and executed. A mainstream film that makes us think - what a concept!
Both times I watched the film in an IMAX theater. The first was at the back of the theater - which was perfect. The second time was from the 4th or 5th row up and I found that the soundtrack drowned out dialogue on a few occasions and I had to cover my ears on most of the action sequences because it was much too loud.
I highly recommend the film, but ensure that - if seeing in IMAX - you're in very back of the theater.

It just goes to show that you don't have to have an "R" rating for a movie to be great! There really is no need in having a lot of sex, violence, and the f-word in order to enjoy a movie. I felt very comfortable watching it with my 15 year old daughter.

In all fairness, it's difficult to write a truly original plot without having the feeling of "been-there, done-that", but Inception comes very close.
Personally, I felt like the whole experiencing dreams concept could have been taken farther as it was relatively easy to follow and the dream sequences still felt a bit too "real". There are a number of similarities and noted differences to The Matrix, but nothing deep and profound.
The effects were quite good, though they would certainly have benefited if the IMAX presentation was in 3D. Granted, the bar had been set very high with the release of Avatar while this film was still in production, so some slack is due. There are still enough unanswered questions at the end to provide fodder for a good sequel.
Certainly worth watching, though it's a bit of a toss-up as to whether the IMAX experience is worth the extra money versus a regular digital presentation.

Starting with what I consider an improbable premise -- the idea that dreams can be interactively shared, the film builds an exciting complexity of dreams within dreams that compels the willing suspension of disbelief. As the different levels of dreams (I count five, including the last two wholly unplanned ones) become more and more complicated, you begin to lose hope that this will ever sort itself out and then suddenly, in rapid succession, the denouements come one after another (six of them, counting the "real-world" one at the very last), and neatly tie everything together. A thoroughly exciting and satisfying film.

You have to have an open mind and think multi dimensionally to keep up but the story guides you along easily if you stay alert. The concept is breathtaking as is the execution- kudos to Christopher Nolan! All the actors were brilliant, I especially enjoyed Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and of course, Leo DiCaprio who is multi-dimensional and exciting. A MUST SEE in IMAX to have a great thrill ride! The movie itself was great. I hadn't been to a movie in ages and now I remember why. After buying the tickets and going to the snack bar it would have been cheaper to spend the evening at the casino. $5.75 for a large soda, $7.75 for large popcorn, two movie tickets $29.50. What a scam - especially on the snack bar. I think I wil continue with my practice of waiting to see the movie after it comes out on demand.

I have seen his movie three times, and it still gives me an anxious, nervous and excited feeling, and I always notice something new. Thought-provoking and on-edge, Inception is a movie that will play with your mind and question your own sanity.
It starts off slow, building the storyline carefully. The only flaw was with the character development. So much time was spent on particular characters and none on others.
But have no fear! Inception was masterfully crafted and you will not be disappointed.

This is a great movie. Probably at the level of Blade Runner- and that is enough to say. I saw it in regular and iMax. iMax is nice, but the movie is so good that it is perfectly OK to see it in a regular.
