The visualizations are only matched by Avitar. But in a different way. Avitar had wild imagery where most of it leaped off the screen. Inception wasn't as wild but made up for it with a true sense of reality. You really get the feeling you are watching real events while he places the characters in bizarre locations. There was a lot of time spent on tying everything logically together with few exceptions. Toward the end the two goals of the hero that both make for good story telling on their own are poorly tied together. They take a leap to make one depend on the other. Shy of that it was a wonderful ride and candy to the eye. Definitely worth the trip.

If I have one complaint, it is this: all the best special effects in the movie are already in all the trailers and teasers online. Wish they had left a few of the mind-blowing effects to be viewable only in the movie itself. Still, how Nolan weaves together all these brilliant effects into a comprehensive whole is the heart of the movie.
Oh wait, I have one other minor complaint: The music, "Mind Heist" which is the thrust of Trailer No. 3, is nowhere in the movie. Hans Zimmer's music in the movie is Oscar-worthy, indeed it is the soul of the movie, but ... Mind Heist tops every track in the movie.
(Side note: I wish someone in the studios notices all the internet buzz about Mind Heist and gives Zack Hemsey, its composer, a big blockbuster movie of his own to compose in its entirety).
Finally, to everyone complaining the movie is too complicated: it's definitely not. Nolan should emulate that other savant, Steve Jobs, and tell all his complainers, "Just don't see it that way!"

Hands down going to be the best film of the summer!! Christopher Nolan is pure genius with this thought provoking, mind twisting thriller. The casting director did a truly fantastic job placing each member of the cast, and Leonardo DiCaprio continues to shine with each movie he is in. If you are a fan of constant non stop, in your face action, this film might get slow at some points for you. I'm going to be short and sweet on this one. An absolutely fantastic movie that works on so many different levels, literally. The cast is great, the soundtrack blends perfectly with what is happening on screen, and the cinematography was simply amazing.
Nolan's best work thus far easily.
I can't wait to see it again! Highly recommended

Christopher Nolan is the hottest director right now. If you thought Memento was a twisted movie, or The Dark Knight was his masterpiece, prepare to be blown away by Inception. The film was like a wild ride that I did not want to get off. The audience reaction at the end of the film was priceless. They need to film the reactions at the end. The cast was great, but the concept and execution of the film was perfect. There is one particular scene that will blow you away, and entails a gravity-less fight scene with Joseph Gordon Levitt. It will blow you away even more to realize that the scene was filmed in a rotating hallway, and did not use computerized special effects. If you want to see a great film, go see this movie. This movie surpassed my very high expectations. As the title states, The Matrix is just another film now.

Inception is the new standard by which all other films, regardless of genre will be compared to.
It is everything you hope all movies would be and more.
Bottom line, it is a brilliant piece of film making that not only deserves to be seen, but seen repeatedly.
The landscape here is so dense, that multiple viewings are required to take in all the complexity of the world Christopher Nolan has created.
Inception makes me so unabashedly happy that a movie like this can be made in todays Hollywood. But it also depresses me, because I will never be able to make anything as good as this EVER. My suspicion is no one else will either.
Do not wait for blu-ray, or netflix...see Inception and see it now.

If you love 'Inception', or hate it, you have to still agree that Christopher Nolan has made an original film that pushes the boundaries of film and the mind. In a summer full of studios avoiding chances, by making safe remakes or sequels, it is hard to believe that 'Inception' was made as it was. Thank god Nolan had the fate of the Batman series as leverage or this film would still be only a dream. I hope that this movie keeps people interested and keeps the dollars rolling in, because If 'Inception' is real successful, what stops a Film company from trying something with this much originality again. It is ironic that a movie about dreams can wake up people from summer movie apathy by widening the range of the imagination. Nolan has planted a new idea in my head, and it is that Summer movie's can be made this well with out any compromise. Christopher Nolan did exactly what he intended to on two separate levels, he exceeded marvelously in creating Inception. An art film disguised as a summer Blockbuster.

IMAX movies tend to always be enjoyable to me, so I was pleased that Inception took pleasure in filling the entire cinema with a stunning aural environment with plenty of visual eye candy.
Chris Nolan (director) has done it again, exhibiting his genius in this new SciFi creation. More than a meticulously crafted movie, Inception is an experience. The visual effects are incredibly fun and goes without saying (if you've seen the trailer for the film). There is just enough character development that lets you enjoy the film and leaves you wanting to come back again. The storyline interweaves through several threads, or layers, and holds you transfixed throughout. While the pace in some of the parts is a bit inconsistent, the hour-long climax before the finale is a rollercoaster that leaves you thinking--a rare treat for movies these days. Do see this film in IMAX.

Christopher Nolan has done it again and hit the ball out of the park. I tried to remain as spoiler free as possible before seeing it cause I didn't want to know what to expect. I certainly didn't expect something THIS good. I don't even remember the last time I was this impressed with a movie; the pacing was spot on, the acting was superb from every cast member, the story itself was engaging, the visuals were insane, the sounds and the music were perfect, and the ending--in typical Nolan fashion--was mind-blowing. Also, that fight in the hallway is the coolest fight sequence I've ever seen. I will be seeing this several more times, at least once more in IMAX. It may be my new favorite movie of all time; we'll see after a few more viewings. SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

DiCaprio desperately needed this movie after the let-down of Shutter Island. The special effects were outstanding, and the storyline avoided taking the cliche paths for the most part. This is one of the best action movies I've seen in a while, and I will definitely recommend it to others.
If you think you're a predictor of outcomes, then you will love this challenge. The layers of the movie are peeled back neatly, and you will still be trying to put together the pieces when you lay down to sleep.

I can honestly say this is hands down, THE BEST movie I have ever seen. Ever. It was BRILLIANT. The research that Christopher Nolan did about dreams and how they were is spot on, and you can tell he worked for a VERY long time (aka 10 years) on making this film.
Leonardo DiCaprio does an amazing job, as well as the other stars of film. It was nice to see Ellen Page do this serious of a role, and she killed it.
If you don't go see this movie, you're basically an idiot. I'm seeing it again. And again. And again.

This movie was just amazing, don't think it's just an overly hyped movie, if anything this movie is underhyped. Most movies I try my best not to analyze and try and predict whats going to happen next because it's always so predictable, this movie however is Just so unpredictable and... well amazing. This movie was really good. The plot was simple and also complicated enough that you are thinking the whole time but it doesn't feel overwhelming. Each actor's performance was believable and flawless.... the visual effects were amazing... There is a really cool fight scene with Joseph G.-L. A lot of really amazing scenes. You don't even think about how long the movie is because it is so interesting. And the end will be debated by many, I am sure.

I thought it was incredible! It was deep and mind bending. You really had to stay focused to truly understand all of the intricacies of this story. Plus my family is still discussing this movie today, and rehashing what each of us got from this movie. Different conclusions and perceptions can be reached from different individuals. This is "A MUST SEE" movie!

Seriously, this is a must-see film. The degree of detail and thought that went into creating this world is simply phenomenal. And I can't remember the last time slow-motion was so tense and exciting. I can't wait to go see it again!

It was good, and interesting and visually arresting, but I don't think enough effort was put into the backstory, or the authenticity of many character motivations for it to be a truly great movie. I was told by the characters were doing things, but I didn't believe it. Their beliefs and desires weren't really shown to me.
