Plot a little slow

The plot was a little slow. I kept wanting to hit "fast forward".
However, the ending was great. It was the best part of the whole movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great acting - would you really destroy a marriage and have your kids grow up for 16 years without you totally being there for THEM? Certainly shows that what happens when you are a child has quite an effect on you for the rest of your life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

One of the better movies I have seen lately. Hilary Swank, as usual, did an amazing job.. It kept me involved and focused all the way through.....Powerful statement about wrongfully indicted prisoners. And the trauma of having a family member put away for life. I totally recommend this movie.
Always intrigued by movies based on true stories, I couldn't miss this one. A big fan of Swank, I knew she would deliver and she should at least get a nomination for her outstanding performance in Conviction. Very emotional and gut wrenching at times as you come to realize that our justice system is not perfect and that there really can be disturbing corruption by crooked cops out to satisfy their personal ego at any cost, even at the cost of the innocent. If you go see this movie, prepare yourself for a "True Story Nightmare" that will leave you both sad and relieved.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The entire cast did a great job in their parts...very believable performances, I appreciate the insite into Hilary & Sam's character's childhood problems, therefore developing them into the people they grew up to be. Sam's character was a totally self-absorbed jack-ass...without their brother/sister extreme bond, there wouldv'e been no way anyone would've wanted to devote years of their life to help this guy out. Growing up, Hilary & Sam only had eachother to rely on so it made sense that she would dedicate her life for her brother but as an outside observer, it was hard to imagine giving up your husband, and to an extent your kids to only focus on your "loser" brother's problems...she ended up making the right decision, but you can't help wondering if his temper won't flare up once more and he'll end up back in trouble.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

the power of love

A true story that evokes a warmth and sense of real love. Nothing else gives you the strength to keep going as Hillary Swank did for her brother. The childhood scenes were touching and set an understanding of the closeness of brother and sister. Very believable acting on both parts. It was so nice to watch a movie free from the sex and violence we are getting so accustomed to watching...a movie for the heart.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A great true story to inspire us all to persevere. Also a great reminder to control our anger...it may come back to bite you. Go see this!
After the huge victory of the 2010 elections, it was an extra "cherry on top" to see such a warm and inspirational movie!

After the bummer of the 2010 election, it was just the right thing to see that love, perseverance and dedication beyond reason to a cause can still make a difference! Bravo!
The performances were top notch, the story compelling, and the ending was a triumph!
Even though you may think you know the outcome; it is a must see movie for the amazing cast, the unbelievable endurance of love, and strength of character, shown in this remarkable story!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Predictable

Fine acting as expected by the high caliber actors in the movie. Juliette Lewis was amazing.
The film was overall entertaining because of the acting, but the script was highly predictable. There were no surprises, no side stories.
It felt like driving down a straight road crossing through the desert, with nothing to see on either side but the expected final destination.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Winner

The screenplay for this movie was fantastic. All of the acting was outstanding, very real. The actress who played the alcoholic who testified against him at the original trial was totally authentic. They kept it moving, told the story the way it happened and the way it needed to be told without exaggeration. I have already told people about it and highly recommend it. It was a story that was true, needed to be told. The sister is a heroine and Hillary Swank made this clear in her portrayal.
