I want this to be my new holiday tradition! In the spirit of MST3K you can again enjoy vintage B-rate movies, shorts and commercial and laugh harder then you thought possible. Nothing is safe from a RiffTrax! The genuine humor flows from each of the guys and you just never know what to expect. Three of us went to the Encore presentation and laughed, laughed, laughed! This is of the same high quality as the finest of the original Mystery Science Theater 3000 show. These guys know that to get a screening event like this to work, they have to give it their absolute best. What places this in that special, higher echelon of comedy is the diversity of the humor: High- and low-brow, dirty and metaphysical, obvious and arcane, contemporary pop culture references and obscure or old references [i.e. Jeff Gillooly and the Schwarzenegger-Sinbad-Phil Hartman (God rest his soul) comedy "Jingle All the Way".] The laughs come often, and the really BIG laughs were regular enough that my sides, mouth and throat got sore. I was stoked to see this come out after the Plan 9 came out in theatres a few months ago! Things definitely ran smoother on the encore showing (the Live showing last time had a few glitches). If you're a fan of MST3K then you won't be disappointed seeing these guys on the big screen.

An awesome skewering of some of the weirder Christmas shorts with a couple of non-Christmas shorts added to make the show an appropriate length. Took my son (12) and he loved it too. The show is not too short and not too long. A person can only laugh so much and they end on a great high note. The addition of Weird Al seemed a bit tacked on, and while I love Weird Al, not sure it added much. He was fine. Mike, Kevin and Bill are masters of their craft and deliver a great product.

Wouldn't have missed this! My cousin & I are die-hard fans, and after the "Plan 9" offering we were both hooked on watching Mike & the guys in this big screen format. My boyfriend and I had a GREAT time. We expected to laugh, but not this much! The shorts were hilarious by themselves but with the great lines from the guys, it was even better. It's Whose Line Is It Anyway meets Christmas. Fun time had by all!

Took my college age daughter with me. Couldn't make the live show so we had to go to the encore the next day. There was about 50 people in the theater, good showing for a thursday night so close to Christmas. We laughed a lot. Everyone in the theater did. Often couldn't hear all the lines because of the laughter. The shorts were incredibly odd. Funny just by themselves. The old commercials were crazy. We will go to any Rifftrax event in the future. Well worth the money.

Ok, I laughed to the point of tears for much of this presentation. The totally bizarre (and often scary) shorts they show were funny enough, but their commentary brought everything to a new level of hilarity. Which part was funniest? Anything by Castle Films? Ding-a-lings robots and King Ding? The aquatic "wham girl?" A sexually perverted Rudolph cartoon? A animated discarded toy that destroys a child's room? "The North Pole," set in someone's mid-century modern living room? It was all riotous. Only odd moment was their little skit during the closing credits, with the guy in fishnet hose. It was a strange way to end the evening and I think they should stick to just making quips during movies. They are the total masters of that!

Went to AMC Gulf Point in Houston, TX. They had some technical issues. Posted start of 7pm. By 7:45, they still hadn't gotten the movie going, and we had seen the first ~10 mins of "pre-show" slides ~ 4 times. Some people left. Don't want to reflect this in show review grade, b/c it's not their fault the theater screwed up. In fairness, the MGR gave us all FREE passes on the way out.
The show itself was great, and I certainly look forward to more RIFFTRAX events. The only downside was the short presence by Wierd Al, which was overhyped in the advertising. Also, w/ all the myriad of Xmas bits out there, the fact that they had 2 non-Xmas clips detracted. Overall it was a great show, though, and I had a great time (once it started).

The Shorts-stravaganza was everything that was expected: fun, entertaining, and full of laughs. Even my girlfriend, often pessimistic where the comedy stylings of MST3K and Rifftrax are concerned, had a tremendous time and laughed heartily. Went to AMC Gulf Point in Texas and it was supposed to start at 7. By 7:45, they still hadn't managed to get the movie going. People had gone out to tell them about the problem, but nothing had gotten resolved yet. 7:45 is when Dad and I went to desk to see, along with several others. We were told they were looking into it and that we could wait or get our money back. If we'd have known it would be going in five minutes, we'd have stayed, but, "We're looking into it," doesn't give me that confidence. I'm very disappointed as I was really looking forward to it.
