The Rifftrax Live Christmas Shorts-Stravaganza was AWESOME! Truly, this was the best thing I've seen all year. The guest appearance by Weird Al was great, he was a real trooper with all that Quality, Freshness, and Flavor. The entire event was something out of this world, and I would rush back to the theater instantly if another encore were abound. My only complaint is that I can't give this review more than five stars.

Loved it. Glad to see the boys from MST3k back on the big screen. If you love humor and lauging this movie is for you. Lots of the shorts were so rediculous even with out the riffing your laughing at it. Would see it multiple times.

We loved it! My daughter, her boyfriend, my neice, and my nephew went also. We were all laughing hysterically. It was just like being at an MST 3000 performance. This was our second Riff Trax, and we can't wait for the next one!

This is the second Riff event I've been to and another very entertaining evening was had by all. The film clips and commercials were sometimes so dated and twisted in their own way that commentary wasn't necessary but as always, the guys added to the funny. The crowd was laughing from start to finish. Great show.

I suspect Rifftrax's first Fathom Event was an experiment; now they've gone through the feedback and learned to Stick To Riffing as opposed to "host segments." Here the wonder trio take on several Christmas themed shorts of dubious production value, stilted scripts, 1940's/1950's home-movie style; "acting," and give it/them their highest caliber commentary riffs ("I never knew David Lynch made a Christmas movie..."). Some are so bizarre sometimes commentary isn't even required; during the Max Fleischer "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer," a visual moment was so hilarious the audience laughter had the three lose "about three lines," but even they felt it was worth it for the strangeness.

I have been a fan since the MST3K movie and have even toured the old set. It did my heart good when I heard my favorite MSTies are still going strong. I've seen most Rifftrax movies and the HYSTERICAL shorts. We had to go out of town to see the Christmas special but it was well worth it. Give it a chance if you don't know them. If you do, we have to support them. My local theaters aren't cool enough to show it and they need the larger exposure. WELL worth it!

As usual, the guys did a great job riffing and I applaud them for it! The choices of shorts were great, I was amazed at the Night Before Xmas one - we used to watch that on 8 mm film when I was growing up, interspersed with much swearing by my father when the film snapped and had to be spliced, ah memories!
My big beef with the event - what was with Weird Al coming out for one 5 minute riff, barely riffing and then not even doing a song (Xmas at Ground Zero anyone)?! I adore Al and the fact that he was going to be (I thought) riffing along or at least performing was a big part of my husband and I's decision to drive 2 hours to see it. VERY disappointed, please Al, give us more Al next time!

I was disappointed with this broadcast. I thought Weird Al was going to be a musical guest and not just complain about being referred to as the "Pork Council President." I wish the shorts were newer: the 50's productions fell flat, with the exception of the Rhapsody short with the pine tree that lacked self-esteem. The toy commercials were funny: the homoerotic tone to the robot commercial was creepy. The in-theater "trivia" screens prior to the broadcast were more funny than most of the movie commentary. I would like to see a more well-known movie with their next broadcast.

I loved all the Christmas shorts! I was however hoping they would make fun of the claymation "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" but the cartoon version was just as good. I also expected a little more Weird Al Yankovic and was somewhat disappointed when he only riffed one short. I felt the Rifftrax crew did a better job with "Plan 9 from Outer Space," but the Christmas Shorts were still worth seeing and I would recommend anyone to see it

Just like an MST3K episode - very funny parts - very slow and dry parts.
THE BAD The Sound mix was Awful - TOO much echo. We had to struggle to hear both the old movie soundtracks and the commentary. Also, the theater projectionist had issues capturing the sound feed - but corrected it quickly in the beginning.
THE ODD There was one odd feature - a never-ending bit on swimming from the 1930s. While it had a couple funny bits, it had nothing to do with Christmas and made no sense.
THE GOOD The best feature was held off until the end – "Rudolph." Probably one of the most awkwardly-sexy reindeer Moms ever drawn.
THE QUICK Weird Al had less than 5-minutes on-screen.

Actually funnier than the Plan 9 event. Probably because the short films were so outrageous anyway. Hope they do lots more of these.

We thoroughly loved Rifftrax Christmas Shorts Special. The guys were for the most part HILARIOUS. My cheeks ached from maintaining a constant smile/laugh throughout. Only change I would like... have less of their faces on the screen. I still like to imagine that Crow and Tom Servo are commenting with Mike. Sorry that Joel won't join... Enjoyed Weird Al, but wish he could have stayed longer...

The RiffTrax LIVE: Christmas Shorts - Stravaganza! was funny even before it started. They did their version of 'movie facts' before the show started that had everyone roaring with laughter. And it only got better from there.
Once again the team delivered - they dug up amazing footage and made it even more hysterical with their own material. Hearing the audience in my theater, as well as the one at the event, added to the fun.
More please, lots more of these!
P.S. Oh, and the technology worked great this time around - not one major glitch! Whoohoo!
