I've read a lot about Orson Welles. I think they really captured his personality very well. I also thought the costumes and music were really good and appropriate to the period.

I had read other reviews, which prompted me to see this film and I wasn't disappointed. Christian McKay does a great job of channeling Orson Welles and nails him. It's worth seeing the movie just for his performance alone.
Although a little stiff, Efron does a good job portraying the young kid who happens into a part in Welle's production of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar."
Dane's performance is what you'd expect from her and she's cast well a woman who's playing the theater system game to get a ahead.
Maybe I'm showing my age, but it's a good great film for couples and people who remember or appreciate Orson Welles.

Anyone who has ever experienced the idealism that comes with the decision to be an artist will love this film. Zac Efron is surprisingly charming as a young actor trying to find himself and his direction as he finishes high school. Alex McKay is nothing short of perfect as Orson Welles - we love, hate, and always revere him just as the cast and crew do. Claire Danes was decent, but her role could have been played with a little more sadness, especially since she is the reality check in the film. She is truly sleeping her way to the top, and although she makes no apologies, her reasoning should be addressed. Overall, though, I would recommend it to any of my friends.

Christian McKay steals the show as Orson Welles in this movie about stage acting as seen through the eyes of a newcomer (Zac Efron). The rest of the cast is excellent and you will leave this movie feeling satisfied that you saw terrific talent working with great source material. See this movie!
