My son and I saw the premiere last evening. Unlike many event documentaries, Race Across the Sky captured the raw emotion of an epic ride, and focused on the "doing", and sense of accomplishment for both those that finished the race and many that tried but fell short. A balanced portrayal of not only the elite athletes but the weekend trail warriors struggling in a dramatic setting - Bravo!

I was more excited about this movie than any other this year and I wasn't disappointed, the documentary was great as well as the panel discussion.
Leadville is crazy, it is also incredibly beautiful. I am typically a road cyclist, but this movie makes me want to dust off my MTB and hit the trail.

This movie was not just about the superstars of MTB. It was so inspiring, folks who have been in accidents, suffering from different illnesses who push themselves and transform their spirit.
The view of the course and the quality of the film was exceptional.
It was such a positive film for a town that has gone from almost 100% unemployment to utilizing their surrounding environment. Much of the credit goes to Ken who runs the event.

First off, I thought all these people attempting the race were brave, and crazy! But I can see why they would try! Human interest stories were touching - wish there had been more. Made me think that next time I'm on a ride and ready to give up, that I'm gonna have to tell myself to stop being a whiner - if a woman who got hit by a car and broke her back can do Leadville, I can do this! Good documentary about riding and the folks who get out there and do it. Loved the scenery, the local stories and the message that you can do better than you think you can. Mountain bikers are a good bunch of people, and the movie captured that.

Great documentary. Cinematography was superb. Really captured the essence of the event. The theater I went to had some technical issues for the first 10min -- showing an HP marketting/training thing instead of the LT100, but at least they got it sorted out quickly.

We watched Race Across the Sky in a soldout theater in Ahwatukee, which is home to many roadies and MTBrs since it is one of the rarely hilly areas of southern Phoenix, adjacent to the prime MTB venue of South Mountain Park. The crowd was a mixed group of LAF/Armstrong fans, roadies and MTB riders, of all ages, demographics and reasons for attending. I've been to Leadville, and the movie authentically depicts the area "vibe" and difficulty of riding at 10,000+ feet. Well done, and touching.

Having done this race twice, knowing what its like to finish and not finish and the emotion it stirs inside yourself, I think this movie does a great job to bring that to the audience. And the inspiration of Lance and Dave, Matt and Travis, the sheer athletisism that these front runners deliver inspires me to no end to compete again and lather on about the movie. Very good, I enjoyed this movie a lot. Lance is an awesome athlete for sure, but it would have been nice to focus a little more on Dave Weins and all of the other folks trying just to finish. I know, there was some of that, and it really made this movie interesting and more real than just watching Lance blow through it.

I've raced 11 times and you don’t get a chance to enjoy the scenery. I've traveled to the top of the Columbine Mine 15 times and the helicopter shot was nothing less than spectacular. The movie captured many of the elements of what the race is about. I had the pleasure of watching Lance for the last 2 years and he was nothing but a class act. He is the US's greatest cycling ambassador and there is no denying the impact he has. The moving provides a glimpse of what the rider feels and experiences during the 12 hour, high altitude, out and back Rockies adventure. I loved the movie and recommend that every mountain biker that thinks about throwing a leg over his or her bike for an adventure see this movie.

For those of us who've never actually entered the Leadville 100, this was the next best thing to being there. Great overview of the race, some history, and a good look at how the pros do it. I think I would have liked to have seen more about the middle of the pack, though - how the amateurs prepped and fared during the race.

This was a very inspirational film. The scenery and music soundtrack were beautiful as well. I was much more impressed with the stories of Dave and the other "normal" bikers than Lance. Felt Lance was lying when he said he now understood he could lose a race and be OK. It was a little overkill for him to blow away the entire field the way he did, and I was hoping that flat was going to do him in.

I was exhausted after watching this movie! It felt like I had actually ridden the Leadville 100 with all the emotional highs and lows. Anyone interested in cycling and/or Lance needs to see this movie. I hope the race organisers realize the amount of demand this movie will create for entries to this race.
The movie itself is very entertaining and full-on. The panel discussion before/after was cool for the real biking geeks in the audience, but my 9yr old was yawning through these parts ;-)

What an outstanding movie! The competition between Lance and Dave is excellent but it is the heart warming stories of the other riders that really make this movie special. A must see for all.

You are amazed by the pro and amatuer athletes who push themselves to their limits. It is like you are right there with them during the race. You want everyone to complete their dream they have work so hard to accomplish. Great job putting this movie together.

To see so many people struggle and then triumph is an inspiration to all. This movie isn't about Lance or Dave, it is about the town, the volunteers, the families and friends, and the racers and what they have done to make the Leadville 100 such an amazingly beautiful race.
