I've lived with Queen's Budapest concert since the mid-90's. As exciting as that was, this new restoration fixes some issues inherent with the original release: pitch/speed correction (now the music no longer sounds as if it were a half-step sharp). Also, the picture quality is phenomenal, and clearly shows the love and care put into making a clean transfer from the original film to a new HD master. The outstanding detail conveys faithfully even on the big screen. Though we've seen many a release of Queen shows from the 1986 Magic tour with near-same set list, this is a pivotal point in the band's career, showcasing the band's unsurpassable musicianship in new territory, and even great respect towards the Hungarian audience (as illustrated with their attempt at "Tavaszi Szél"). The audio is also an upgrade from the original release, as the new mix unearths refreshing balance, significant punch and thump out of the drums, and they've even fixed some noises one was used to hearing in the original. A highly emotive performance from the band won't disappoint even the most demanding Queen fan, and like any Queen show from back in the day, this document in their history needs to be experienced in the biggest environment one can enjoy it, so it is in one's best interest to catch this in the theater.

The 30 minute intro film was amazing! The concert was breathtaking. The only thing I would have changed was the volume of the concert in the theater! Why was the volume low especially during Brian May's soło?!

Saw Queen live 32 years and 4 days previous to this. Was great to see them again. Sang through seven seas of. rhye. and lap of the gods. Very enjoyable.

First of all who was the reviewer who didn't know any Queen songs except Under Pressure? That means this "movie" is NOT for you. If you are a fan of Queen and (like me) were too young to have been able to see them live in 1986 then you should see this in the cinema. Started with a 30 min documentary about the Magic Tour, then an hour and a half concert of Queen in Hungary, right off their sold out shows at Wembley earlier in the month. My only complaint is the cutting down of Tie Your Mother Down, my fav Queen song to hear live. Also the audio of the 30 minute docu in the beginning was quite low, AND the audio of the concert it self could have been better, but overall, it was the best chance I'd ever have to see Queen, in a big "arena" setting, so I was happy. I know this is an extremely limited run, so good on you if you happened to catch it.

Being a Queen fan means no part of this movie could be bad, but we were very disappointed in the sound quality of the concert portion of the movie. The first 20 minutes of interviews and poor sound was reminiscient of the black and white introduction of the Wizard of OZ. I kept waiting for that explosive moment when the sound surrounded me and made my heart thump. Instead, we were able to hear the booms and shots of the movie beside us. There was no technical sound engineering detectable -- moderate volume -- nothing like a concert.
Only 19 tickets were sold -- where was the promotion and movie posters? Our local radio station promoted their live remote but we never could even find them!
Nevertheless, it made for a great date night with my husband. :)
