I thought that the film was visually mindblowing and should movie 3D movie making to a whole new level. I had heard that the story was weak but I disagree. I thought it was terrific and full of powerful and timely messages - not that we ever heed them...unfortunately.

I try to see what movies that interest me as soon as they come out. As for Avatar... I think it is one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. Special Effects and 3D has come a long way. And I can tell you right now, if you are a Sci-Fi movie fan, if you enjoy qualities in the special effects and 3D movies you have seen in the past... This movie is going to blow you away. The animation is outstanding and the storyline is great. I have seen it twice. In Real 3D and in IMAX, although I liked it better in IMAX, either way will still have you stuck to your seats. This is not a movie you want to leave for a few minutes to take care of business or to get snacks. You want to watch every minute of this 2hr 40min movie. Belive me.

This movie blends characteristics from such other great movies as Braveheart, The Matrix, Dances with Wolves and The Chronicles of Narnia. Although the picture was over 2.5 hrs long, it grabbed your attention in the very beginning and didn't let go throughout the entire event. The graphics were excellent and the story well-written; all-in-all a great movie experience.

Loved the 3D and technical aspects of the movie. I was amazed at the number of objects that appeared to be floating between me and the screen, and a movie set at great heights in 3D was incredible. I've parasailed and hot air ballooned and been less height sick. I agree with other reviews - this story has been told and retold dozens of time. It's like a handout for the current "Green" movement. We are too bound to wealth over environmental issues, but everyone is already aware of that also. Still, it doesn't hurt to be reminded.

Absolutely loved this movie. Saw it twice in one week and I can't wait to own it. Loved the visual affects and kept me interested the entire time. As you watch this movie, you forget that the Na'vi people are animated. Everything seems so realistic. Loved the flora and fauna as well. Very believable.

One of the best movies we've seen in a long time. The special effects were so life like that it not only looked real, but almost looked like you were there. The 3D effect was also so real, that my fear of heights kicked in when they were running through the trees!!

I didn't expect to like this movie but I was awed by it. Visually it was magnificent and I found myself completely drawn in to the world of Pandora. Very imaginative, creative, and fun! As others have said the plot was predictable, but still well worth seeing. The 3D was done well -- no headaches or dizziness here!

The special effects were amazing and the world created was fantastic but the plot was very simple and a little bit cliche. Overall, I liked the main charaters but the main bad guy was like the terminater...just when you thought he was dead...Is it just me or does anyone else think this is a similar story line to Little Big Man?

EXCELLENT movie! It had everything....great story, engaging characters, action (but not too much) and a villian you wanted to see get his rear handed to him! To say this movie was visually stunning would be an understatement! You really felt like you were a part of the world of Pandora! I saw it in 3D and am planning to see it again. Next time will be the IMAX 3D experience. Definitely one for the DVD collection!
