Very fun movie, This is one of the first movies that I have ever been to that I never once looked at my watch. The movie is more than 2 hours long, and I wish it were longer. Very exciting. I cannot wait to see it again. I dont think I will do 3D again. The recent 3D movies give me a head ache.

I really enjoyed this movie, storyline was great, special effects were fab! Great action and the undercurrent "respect nature, love your planet" message as well as understanding differences and respecting other species rather than anihilating them, gives you a lot to think about. What a ride! I will see this again. I saw it in RealD 3D but I want to see it in Imax. I found the message about "Mother Pandora" very lifting. The whole of the world is connected. Mother Nature always wins. Great effects, story and Wow, 3D.

Visually absolutely stunning, story a mixture of "dancing with wolves" and "alien" - not so great and predictable. Fight scenes toward end of movie drawn out too much. Hidden political message - preachy. "Bad white folks intent to destroy planet".... The landscape scenes are beautiful and the movie is worth seeing just for that. Heard that 3D effects are better in an Imax theatre.

You wouldn't believe how fast 2 hours and 40 minutes flies by when you're watching this movie! It has breath-taking visual effects and the 3-d really enhanses this!
I loved the movie! The Genre says Action/adventure... but its really Sci-Fi/Fantasy which I love! My husband, not being a big Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan really enjoyed the movie also.
Not only are the visual effects fantastic, but I really enjoyed the story. Great movie for teens and adults.
I wouldn't recommend it for the younger kids some of the scenes would be pretty violent for them.

This was an awesome movie. I would watch it several times. Loved the special effects. My first thoughts after the movie was that it was a more intensed Ferngully. I especially liked that this was not a damsel in disstressed situation and that she was more of the protector.

Had some trouble with the 3-D making me a bit queasy. Had to close my eyes part of the time, or take 3-D glasses off. Only lasted for a while, though. Very fast moving film. Kept your interest. I noticed that the native population seemed to have a similarity to our Native Americans & how they were treated by the Europeans that took their land from them. Glad they fought so had for their lands.

Held my rapt attention for the full run time. The 3D was unbelievable and the sound track was great. This type of production may well save the big screen - truly made it fun again. Assume it will be a long time before those effects can be duplicated at home. Definitely worth the price.

Loved the concept of the world and the special effects make it an overall really neat experience. Thought the plot could use a little tweaking to add more interest and it could be a little shorter but was a fabulous movie and it's obvious why everyone's raving about it.

This movie was incredible. We absolutely loved it. The 3D was awesome. The imagination required to create this film is tremendous. I feel sorry for people who cannot appreciate the beauty and wonder portrayed in this film. The story line may be a familiar one, but Avatar is a visual feast. Watched it in 3D based on recommendation, was not disappointed about 1/3 into the movie you forget you're wearing the glasses. The plot is pretty easy to guess, but the cinematic and graphic rendering is amazingly seemless. Brought the kids and to them it was like their compareable to our first time seeing Star Wars in the theater (in awe).

I was totally blown away by the creative work on this movie as well as the computer generrated visual effects ( flowers, animals and "land of the lost as well as the war machines) . It was clever, imaginative, and downright thrilling. I enjoyed every minute of it and I hated to see it end. Okay so I totally went to see this movie because my friend who is one of the toughest movie critics totally reccomended i see it. SO right then and there I knew that if she was telling me it was a must see then it had 2 be good.......and I tell you not it took me five minutes to literally travel in my 3d glasses to avatar! I went to see Avatar this past weekend with very high expectations. Everyone I spoke to who had seen the movie said it was great. Well I settled in to the movie and it took about five minutes for me to get into it. From then on I was a character in Avatar. I was mesmorized, entertained, and blown away by this movie. At the end of the movie I was exhasted from the movie experience. It was a feeling that I just saw the first real epic picture of the 21st century. At work I spoke with some people who had seen it and we all agreed that we wanted to live in Avatar. What a place to be. What a world to live in. Thank you James Cameron for a movie I'll never forget and I will enjoy forever.

The storyline was a rehash of older stories such as Pocahantas etc. But the effects were very good.
