This was my first experience with an IMAX 3-D movie and must say I look forward to seeing the next one! A-I-W was probably the perfect first IMAX experience. How can you go wrong with another Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration!?!? I enjoyed it immensely as did my granddaughter and her friend.

Once again, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp do not disappoint.!! It was my first 3-D experience as well-----totally awesome!!! I wasn't expecting Anne Hathaway; that was a fun surprise, too. I never heard of Mia before; She did a GREAT job! Helena Carter played the wicked queen well. I just read that she is Burton's wife? I didn't know that! What a duo! Great movie!

I guess about lots of hoopla I expected more, much more. I was left disappointed and wondering why I hadn't spent my Sunday afternoon at the park. The movie is visually beautiful, I also saw it in IMAX 3d, which is wonderful, but the movie left me wanting more. At the end Alice is so upset leaving hatter (Johnny Depp) I don't get it...I don't think any of the characters were developed enough to make you understand this.

This movie met my expectations, but the IMAX 3D exceeded. 3D has come a long way from the red and green lenses. I wasn't sure if I should see the Real d 3D or IMAX 3D. I've still never seen a Real d 3D, but I'd certainly go back to see another IMAX 3D.
The quality of the movie was right on and I enjoyed the movie.

As if they are on the same magical potion, something special happens when Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaborate. AiW is brilliantly enthralling, visually stunning, psychologically intriguing, and great fun.
The additional immersive nature of IMAX 3D was worth the extra charge, but I also anxiously await the release of the DVD so I can go back and catch many fast-paced hilarious little details.
And who doesn't love rabbits, especially when they're bonkers?

Lots of good one liners and visually pleasing, for Burton that takes a lot . I am not a Burton fan but I do love the Alice in Wonderland books. I went in knowing it would be completely different. I was thinking it would be similar to the tangent of Battlestar Galactica series twists on the old one; a dark and enjoyable mix. Burton accomplished it.

It had been a long time since I had seen a 3D movie, so I had my doubts about how good Alice in Wonderland would be, but wow, was I impressed. It was wonderful. I never once felt uncomfortable with the 3D glasses and the movie kept me captivated. Though I was familiar with the story from the classic movie, I was really pleased with the use of costuming and special effects to bring the story to life. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was the best! I highly recommend seeing this in 3D and on the IMAX screen. It was like really being a part of the story.

I came into this movie knowing that it was a sequel to and not a remake of the original so I wasn't some total doof caught in total surprise.
However I did expect for it to be good. The plot was cliche and boring - the heroine is hesitant to save the day until the last minute and learns a lesson about herself in the process. Gah, the image of her riding on a beast, in knight's armor to battle, straight out of Narnia or any of those other movies.
Don't get me wrong, Mia is beautiful and pulls off a good Alice, there's just enough Depp, and the Red Queen is LOL, but this could've been ANY other movie.
The catepillar once asked Alice, "who are you?". this movie should reply. not alice, definitely not alice.

I loved the movie. Johnny Depp never ceases to amaze me by bringing such depth to a character I thought I'd always known. His portrayal of the Mad Hatter was wonderful. The movie was a refreshing spin on the old classic and is definitely worth seeing. I brought my 8, 9 and 15 year old children along with my 90 year old grandma and each of them loved the movie for different reasons. I was afraid it would be "dark" given Tim Burton's style, but it was not. Each of my children even asked if we could see it again.

It was my 2nd choice, as Avatar was still sold out, but I truly enjoyed the movie. Great balance of light-heartedness and darkness. Cinematography, special effects and imagination of the creators were mesmorizing. Johnny Depp's quirkiness, together w/ the story-book-come-to-life effects of Helena Bonham Carter as the Red-Queen (I actually enjoyed the almost fairly tale, un-human trasfomation of the Red Queen, as what real woman would actually look like her) & Anne Hathaway's portrayal of the White Queen, I thought, were imaginative and entertaining. It's not a heart-stopping/unpredictable epic drama, as it's a light-hearted fairy tale...and, thus, not dark...and, yes, it's predictable for anyone who grew up in the US, but that also makes it extra challenging for the film-makers and the actors...and, yet, it was well executed and worth my time and money....and, thus, it deserves 5-stars for what it is.

I was worried that it would be TOO "dark" considering Tim Burton's style, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was in fact "dark", but not too much... a lil too much for little ones in my opinion, but very entertaining. A very good twist of the Disney movie.

Alice in Wonderland has been redone so many times, but this rendition added in Tim Burton's style of art.. it was so good to see. Johnny Depp was so folded into his character as the Mad Hatter that you could barely tell it was him. I watched it in IMAX 3D and it was a total immersion time for me. Wonderful.

I guess I've had my expectations lowered by Michael Bay and Uwe Boll for treatments of beloved characters but Tim Burton and his cast did a great job of doing a sequel to the story of Alice in Wonderland that honored the original while taking us someplace new. Johnny Depp is (with Christian Bale and Viggo Mortensen) an actor whose movies I will see on faith, no matter how much the subject matter may seem uninteresting, and he does not disappoint here. All the characters, both real and CG, had nuanced personalities and, like my favorite books, movies and videogames, made you feel like their world goes on even when you aren't watching. I loved this movie and was very happy to have my daughters have something like this to reinforce the notion that within the scope of socially-decent behavior there's still a lot of room to forge a unique identity.
BTW, I thought the 3D Imax presentation was very well done. My face hurt from smiling at all the little details that added charm to the world of the movie.

Once you get to Underland, the effects are really colorful and amazing. The 3D for the first part of the movie is useless, however, and I kept wanting to take off my glasses to watch. I think I'd actually prefer this without the 3D - the visuals with their brilliant colors are enough and the 3D didn't enhance the movie that much. As for the drama, didn't really care about the characters much and some of the dialogue was hard to understand. Actors are all excellent, but plot was rather gloomy.

Not to take away from Tim Burton or Johnny Depp but aside from the amazing colors, make up and costumes, and 3D effects, the story fell short of being average. This movie had "No" wonderland part at all in it. Johnny Depps part as Hatter is almost an insult to his ability as an actor and this is reflected. I was disappointed with the screen play itself and was short of an average movie to me.

The special effects, 3D and IMAX made this movie the best. Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowski were amazing. Who doesn't love a Tim Burton movie?

I was excited to see this movie. It was a huge let down. The plot is pretty thin, the character development is nil, the speech is often incomprehensible, and entire movie lacks the grandeur of wonderland. If you are not simple minded, you will not enjoy this movie.

Although there were some liberties taken from the original "Alice Through the Looking Glass," the final product was breathtaking. Not only were the animations crisp and clean, but the costumes were very well done, and the LINES WEREN'T CHEESY! (Which is impressive, given that CS Lewis invented half of the words, himself.)
Not only was the movie able to hold my attention simply for being well made, the symbolism is what really through me for a loop. I read the book a few times as a young child, but I had never been able to relate to what everything meant (and EVERYTHING has a meaning). This movie will peak the interests of your ENTIRE family.
Oh yeah, and JOHNNY DEPP!!!! mmmmMMMM!!!! :)
