The movie was great all around. I liked the sets, and the colors that were used. They really set the tone of the movie. We saw it in Imax 3D. I think that is the only way to see a movie like this. As for the stars: Helena Bonham Carter stole the show! She up staged Johnny Depp!

After seeing Tim Burton's versions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd, I was worried I would also be disappointed with this film, but I was pleasantly surprised. His decision to create a new story that occurs after Alice has grown up instead of one of the original Lewis Carroll stories saved him from creating something that people would compare to every other Alice film out there and made it so he could take the story to a new direction and focus on previously unimportant characters (namely the Mad Hatter). I could have done without Johnny Depp's little dance, but otherwise the movie was very enjoyable.

First, let me say this is Mike's daughter. The beginning of the movie was pretty slow, but it kicks up. I cannot imagine seeing the movie in anything BUT 3D. The movie was simply magical and the actors were amazing. I would defiantly see it again!

I liked it. I didn't love it as much as I hoped, but it was good. The 3D was pretty good. I never felt dizzy or sick. Love Depp and Bonham Carter.
The only thing that bothered me is that Depp's voice was a little Jack-Sparrowy at times..

Johnny Depp as the Madd Hatter was excellent as always but Mia Wasikowska was superb as Alice. Director Tim Burton couldn't have picked a better cast of actors. The whimscial characters; the white rabbit, chesire cat, the caterpillar were protrayed just as I remembered the them as a kid. My favorite line of the entire movie was "You seem like Alice but you've lost your muchness". You're going to love the Queen of Hearts, she's actually quite funny. This movie is definitely worth seeing.

I read 4 reviews before seeing the movie. 3 not so positive andone positive. I generally agree with them, although, it was entertainining in 3D. In fact, one of the most interesting was closing credits frame. Alice and the queen of hearts were good choices for actors. I could have done without the dragon towards the end.

I really didn't have any real expectations so I was more than plesantly surprised by Alice! I do not believe this movie should have been rated PG because it can be scary, emotionally charged, and too intense for the 5 and 6 year olds that were sitting around me in the theatre! The actors were perfectly cast and I loved Johnny Depp in this role. I highly recommend putting Alice on your short list of current movies to see and would also recommend that it be viewed in IMAX 3D - such amazing colors, sound and experience!

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp re-told the story of Alice in Wonderland in a way only they could.... it was creative and interesting. The colors, costuming and scenery were inventive and made Wonderland come alive. Johnny as the Mad Hatter was perfect casting. Mia Wasikowska fit in well with such a talented cast. Granted, the movie was not exactly true to the novels written by Lewis Carroll, so if you want an exact depiction.... look elsewhere. Overall, I was impressed and entertained!

The movie had some great effects. I thought Johnny Depp did a great job as the mad hatter. We have been waiting for this movie to come out since it was first announced. We are HUGE Alice in Wonderland fans and love Johnny Depp in most of his movies. I was not overly impressed other than visually to some degree. The story line was so-so. It would have been more visually impacting had I not just seen Avatar. It was worth seeing, but not worthy the big, long build up and what one would expect from a combo of Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, 3D and Alice and Wonderland.

My Children enjoyed the movie 9 and 7. My 2 and 4 yr olds were not interested. My husband could not stay awake, only certain parts got him back up. I wanted to see them put on a show at tea, I wanted to see them have a ball and light up the screen, not look confused and dazed and not sure what they were even saying. The Red queen stayed true to character so she was my favorite.

Just saw this on Saturday, although I love Johnny Depp, I wasn't impressed with his character portrayal of the Mad Hatter, in a sense he just wasn't mad enough for me. The 3D was awesome; with all the colors and digital animation...I particularly enjoyed Helena Bonham Carter's performance, which was slightly reminiscent of her role as Morgan le Fay in Merlin. All in All it was a good movie visually, can't say I'll see it again until it comes out in DVD.

I am a diehard Alice fan. My brother remembers having to watch it 700 times when I was younger because I was in love. This movie had A LOT to live up to. And it did. If anyone is familiar with Joseph Campbell's study of the hero journey, this did it. Only Alice's journey was into become a healthy and well-balanced woman. A GREAT MESSAGE FOR KIDS, way better than's DIsney's ridiculousness. I left floating. The visuals were great, Depp was not my favorite of his characters but okay nonetheless.

I am a huge fan of the original Alice in Wonderland, and was a little afraid I would be let down by this new movie, but that was not the case at all. I left the movie feeling sad that it was over! What an awesome experience. I brought my 9-year-old daughter for her first Alice experience. I, myself, was taken back to a world of astonishing imagine and intrigue. My daughter was totally captivated by Alice's new adventures in Wonderland. One doesn't want to see this journey in anything other than the IMAX 3D format. It brought the story alive!

This movie was great! It was tied in wonderfully with the original so there were no questions about what are they talking about?! As always Johnny was stunning and the red queen was a hoot! If you were loving the magical world of "underland" the first time as a child you'll love this one too!

It wasn't like the cartoon movie at all. I think it would've been a lot better if it were. However, the 3D was pretty cool at times. Interesting Disney movie...

I truly enjoyed the portion I got to see, Visually stunning, however My 6 year old son, who has enjoyed all the Spiderman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Transformer Movies could not handle the intensity of the first part of this movie, Falling down the rabbit hole and a sudden chase scene. He actually asked me to post that this movie should not be for kids under 10. We had to leave the theater, but AMC was kind enough to give us the money back.

This movie is great - but it does have a genre attached to it. What I mean is that it isn't an action movie, so if that's what you are looking for, this movie is not for you. This film has a lot of whimsy, is very fairy-tale, and has beautiful colors that make it like a painting. Depp is developing a bit of a character for himself like Clint Eastwood has in Hollywood because you can see some Jack Sparrow in his acting of this character. My husband expected more originality, like "I wasn't coming to see Pirates 4" - but I was okay with it.
