Tim Burton happens to be one of my favorite directors, and normally I would stand behind his movies (minus the occasional bomb that he puts out). While Alice in Wonderland had amazing special effects and followed the book fairly well, I do not believe that this is one of Burton's better movies. I am kind of angry that the movie seemed to focus on Johnny Depp as well, which strays from the idea of ALICE in wonderland, but I understand that Johnny Depp would sell more movies than anyone else. However, I still think that Burton could have done better.

I admit it - I'm a Tim Burton fan. I'm first out to see his movies and always add them to my collection as soon as the dvd is released.
This is one of his best works yet. Although it does get off to a slow start, once we enter "Wonderland" it is an amazing ride. Depp is again, fantastic as the Mad Hatter, Helena is amazing as the Queen of Hearts (loved the pigs).
If you're a fan of Tim Burton's styling, then run, don't walk, to see this movie!

The movie, the imax experience, it was all amazing hands down. Tim burton has done another great job. The movie was excellent start to finish.
As for the theatre, they formed a line for the movie, which i was unaware that they had to do, so i wasn't happy with that because i showed up 45mins early and i was literally towards the back of the line. i just wish we were informed this would happen.

You have to get there an hour and a half eary to see the movie and haveokay seats. since it is a family movie, kids were crying and screaming which did cause you not to enjoy the movie as much. Overall the movie itself was good.

Alice in 3D was my first 3D movie, and what a fantastical, whimsical, and stunningly visual experience this was. The usual collaboration of Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Johnny Depp, and Tim's wife Helena Bonham Carter equals genius, and this movie will be another of their career's highlights. Was a great movie, but thought it would be a bit more twisted coming from Burton and really thought they could of played up the 3D effects a bit more.
The color was vivid and the 3D was good but just needed a bit more pizazz!

This was one of Tim Burtons BEST movies. I loved the visual effects and the story was great. It was a perfect mix between the classic Alice story and Mr. Burton's spin on a new story. I and my family saw this movie yesterday in IMAX 3D. The movie was good and the graphics, characters and picturization were all perfect. However, I did not feel the tempo to keep me excited about what happens next. Johnny Depp was at his as-usual best. The choice of Mia Wasikowska for the Role of Alice was disappointing.

Overall I believe the visuals of this movie was great, although I do not believe watching it in 3D made much of positive impact... there were many instances where the images were not sharped due to this technology, which I find disappointing.
Secondly, I enjoyed Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland; however, I wished he had explored each series of events longer. The pacing of the story went by too quickly, where it seemed like Burton relied on people's prior knowledge to Alice's story.
Overall, I would still recommend people to see it; however, I'd tell them to save their money and watch it in 2D.

A well done and well acted movie. This movie pulls you in with the awesome 3-D and IMAX screen. A few spots were a little slow but the movie flowed well and was a lot of fun to watch. The special effects were great and the acting was marvelous.

OK, first off - I love Johnny Depp and I think his performance was outstanding! As for the rest of the movie - how did I miss that this was a sequel? Perhaps the title was a bit misleading. In any case, if was a great movie. It may be a bit frightening for the little ones but full of color and imagination.
I agree with many others, the hype was built up so high that it would have been hard to match our expectations.
Alice played it a little flat - even for someone who thinks she's dreaming.
I'll go again to take the family children but I won't waste my money on imax and 3d.
