Found the sets fully engaging and colorful. You would almost think they have too much color, too much detail, but works beautifully, as your eyes are always drawn to a central character or scene. There is not that much development in the story, but it is too fun and interesting to miss!

As an adult I enjoyed the movie, but I would not recommend it for young children. Some of the scenes were pretty scary, and a couple involving an eyeball were pretty gross. There are some great performances, and it's worth going for those and the visuals. It's a clever idea for a story, but I think they should have given it a different title like Return to Wonderland.

This movie really disapointed. Yes it did have nice IMAX effects but the storyline was weak. Alice is supposed to slay an evil dragon to save Wonderland and her companions are supposed to help guide her. The movie was close to being a snorefest

Major kudos to Tim Burton for creating this wonderfully imaginative vision of Wonderland and its inhabitants. The actors brought their characters to life perfectly, led superbly by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The storyline was captivating from start to finish.

A big fat warning - this is not Lewis Carroll's Alice! This is Linda Woolverton's sequel to his classic books. The storyline could be better, but it is not that important in the movie. Pictures and actors is what makes Alice great. I watched IMAX version and now can say that 2D should suffice.

Tim Burton has an interesting take on the story- this movie can sort of be taken as a sequel to the first Alice in Wonderland by Disney. In this one Alice is older and her "dreams" about Wonderland that she has had in the past have been preparing her for this journey.
Burton combined elements from both books by Carroll, as well as elements from the prior movie interpretations. Overall, I really liked the acting, the costumes and the interplay of cgi with human actors. From the previews I did not think I would like that part, but Burton makes both worlds merge beautifully and makes them make sense.

Not a great movie by any means, but entertaining nonetheless. Johnny Depp is good in pretty much anything he does. Lewis Carroll's characters are all there, and the story is presented in a visually entertaining fashion. Although rated PG, I wouldn't recommend this movie for smaller children. It would definitely scare them.

First of all the movie itself was bad ass and i really liked the new twist burton put on the story. But seeing it in the imax 3d was amazing too. You have to see this movie in 3d its friggin bomb!! The previews for upcoming movies were so awesome at the Imax 3d experience... But, the movie itself only had a few good 3d scenes. he story is very similar to the original with slight variation to "through the looking glass." Johnny Deep was freakin amazing! (as always) But, i expected more from Tim Burton. The movie drags a bit in the middle and i wont call it much of a kids movie either. Overall i give it 3 stars and hope to see more from both Johnny and Tim soon!!

I loved the movie BUT... i was expecting more!!! I can't get passed the fact that lil old proper alice become A "champion" and slays the dragon!! That to me just makes it a bit over the top. I wish he would have stuck to the classics... black ribbon in her hair, a white apron, her tights... were's the dodo??? There are a few things the movie was lacking but overall it was good!

The 3D technology in 'Alice' is hands down the Ben-Hur of this generation. Even sitting in the front row (due to temporarily being on crutches and unable to manage even the smaller steps in the theatre), the IMAX 3D technology almost made the Shrek 3D trailer seem appealing. Helena Bonham-Carter was the second best thing about 'Alice.' She has always been one of my favorite actresses, whether she plays Lucy Honeychurch in 'A Room With A View' or the Red Queen in 'Alice.' Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway gave perfect performances as well and ten years from now, I have every confidence this movie will still rank as one of Tim Burton's best alongside 'Edward Scissorhands,' 'Beetlejuice' and 'Nightmare Before Christmas.'

Excellent movie, fun for the whole family. The crazy worlds and costumes that Tim Burton expanded upon from the original were fantastic and fun to watch.

I realize Burton is a revisionist, but this went beyond that--and not in a positive way. Part of the wonder of the Alice stories is that its themes are subtly presented; I felt Burton was hitting us over the head with a pseudo-feminist, overly anti-authority version of Alice--as if this is what happened had Alice Liddell (the real Alice) had not grown up into a stodgy Victorian. There were some inconsistencies & choppiness in the plot & great departures from the characters/stories. But I did enjoy watching the costumes and scenery and 3D effects--lovely, lovely, lovely (outside the context of the stories). I definitely recommend the books over this film. You have to know where this comes from first!!

I had minmal expectations going into this movie. I still am on the edge when it comes to this whole IMAX 3-D experience. I feel its still a bit unusual. looking forward to seeing other movies in IMAX 3-D and how well they improve the overall experience.

The IMAX 3D version - The story line with its current-sensibility attitude for Alice adds some unpredicatability and interest to the storyline. The 3D special effects and the intense colors are a must-see on a big screen. The Wonderland characters, particulary Alice and the Hatter, are delightful and the Red Queen was perfect. Recommend @ 5 stars.
