OK, if you're looking for fun and entertainment, then you got it, go for it! But if you're looking for awesome CGI effects and Avatar 3D view, then don't watch it. Storyline is great and of course, Depp made a fantastic job here. Overall, good and fun.

I expected from a movie based on Lewis Carroll's poem to be more intelligent. But Tim Burton made an average tale for little kids. Johnny Depp was great as usual. Others were quite bad. This was especially disappointing in the case of Alice as a central character.

I saw this movie, on Saturday 3/6/2010. I went with my sister and her daughter, along with my daughter. We all thought the movie was unbelievable. Their was not one moment of boredom, during the movie. From now on any 3D movie will be seen at the Imax. The 3D effects in Alice in Wonderland were so fascinating. At times it felt like you were actually part of the movie. The ages of my group ranged from 49 to 9, and everyone loved it.

Admittedly director Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland has the misfortune of being the first 3D movie to folloe Avatar, but, despite this Burton used the 3D in appropriate doses. However,I expected Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton to be a bit more "trippy". The makeup, cinematography, and CG was great and Helena Bonham Carter & Johnny Depp delivered the performances we come to expect of them in a Tim Burton movie.

I went for the 3D and was amazed at the great characters and storyline! Well Done!! If your not going because of Tim Burton's typical dark style.. fret no more.. this is refreshing and well told. Disney and Burton have found a wonderful blend that is creative and amazing to watch. James Cameron could learn a thing or two about story telling from this one, we can evolve beyond the same old story and get a fresh message!!! Got to see film of 2010!!

Alice undermined everything avatar did to legitimize the use of 3D in modern cinima. It was chalk full of poorly animated CGI and "poke you in the eye effects". It was just full of 3D for the sake of 3D. They didn't use it to enhance the story at all. If anything it was like they used it to distract the audience from the uninteresting storyline and inconsistant performances by depp and Hathaway. The hatter character bothered me the most though. The only thing mad about him was his desire to wear more makeup than David Bowie and Boy George at a makeover slumber party. He never acted daft or crazy, he acted more like an extra from Where the Wild Things Are. Just another uninteresting emotonally damaged frakshow.

Great movie in Imax 3D. Don't sit too close though because you will be turning your head from left to right just to see all the 3D effects.

The movie did get off to a slower start, however the plot soon picked up and the whole theater was thrown down the Rabbit Hole!
Johnny Depp really played a fantastic role as the Mad Hatter, and Anne Hathaway is a goddess here.

Enjoyed the IMAX 3D experience. But the movie left me with little engagement with the characters. Didn't really care if the red queen actually did off their heads. Didn't really see white queen / red queen as conflict of good over evil. technical note the makeup really didn't endear me to the mad hatter, way too over the top. Didn't seem natural for him or the white queen. where as red queen make up seem to fit the character.

I had very high standards for this movie, and it totally exceeded them. I was beyond pleased from beginning to end. My favorite part of this movie is the fact that it isn't yet-another-remake of the story, but a continuation of the beloved story we all know. Everyone was fantastic in their parts, and we got to see more heart and passion in the characters than we've ever known before. I recommend it to everyone, but because it is a bit darker than your average Disney film, I would take caution in bringing your younger kids to the film.

Alice in Wonderland has ALWAYS been my all time favorite movie. Deep down in side, still to this day, I wish I could be Alice and experience all the impossible possible's she got to! Seeing this in the IMAX 3D was the closest I've ever been able to come to really feeling like Alice. This movie was one of the greatest of all times. Burton's take on Alice is amazing. All the characters are incredible and everything just fell into place perfectly!

I took my 3 year old to see Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D. The movie was very good and we all enjoyed it. I was worried that she would be scared by parts, the trailer looked a little scary, but she was not at all. My only complaint was that they had it way to loud in the theater. Over half the movie was spent with my hands over my child's ears. It started out that way though with the previews. And the glasses were way to big for a child, they were big on me. My child couldn't keep them on so she watched the whole movie without any. I wouldn't pay $10 for her again unless they get glasses in other sizes. It was a child-friendly movie with only adult size glasses.

I was largely disappointed. The movie lacked "snap" - that ingredient that keeps you engaged & on your toes. Johnny Depp gave a good performance as the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter stole the show as a wonderful & convincing Red Queen. All the other characters were boring & forgetful, particularly Mia Wasikowska as a flat & poorly acted Alice. The story's main character wasn't engaged, and so neither was the audience. Despite a packed theatre, the audience was silent throughout the movie, and only gave a few pitiful & almost obligatory claps as the end credits started to roll.
Overall it was interesting but not great. A very talented cast put on a ho-hum performance, and I was largely disappointed by Tim Burton's direction.

A worthy successor/replacement for Avatar. Too bad my theatre only has 1 IMAX screen. It had to bump Avatar to make room for Alice. Great storyline and CGI effects. The Red Queen and the Jabberwocky almost stole the movie from the Hatter and Alice. My only gripe is not with the movie itself, but the uncomfortable & bulky 3D glasses you have to wear in the IMAX 3D set. I've seen Avatar in both Real 3D (non-IMAX) and IMAX 3D, there is most definite difference in quality. I wouldn't consider watching Avatar in 2D.

The IMAX and 3D were definitely worth the extra money! Helena Bonham Carter was hilarious as the evil Red Queen. Her lines were witty and delivered with just the right hint of sarcasm.
The story seemed weak but the special effects, costumes, visual appeal and music made up for it.

This movie is so basic... it really feels like there was nothing wrong with the movie, but there wasn't anything good with it either. Since it failed to evoke any sort of emotional response, I would reccomend against seeing this movie. Never before have I really not cared than after seeing Alice in Wonderland.
