Saw Tim Burton and thought "gotta see it". Sat in the theater and saw Disney all over the place and thought "ugh". It was not nearly as dark as I wanted it to be. I thought this would be the Alice that was much more Tim Burton and a whole lot less Disney....I was wrong, Great for the kids, not bad for the adults, wished it was more...just more.

This movie is really great. There are some intense moments for younger children but good. For adults I feel that some of the plot lines could have been a bit thicker, they could have easily made it deeper, but The focus was on the special effects.

My husband and I saw this movie in IMAXX/3D. The colors were unreal. The movie was more than what we expected. Although this is a Disney movie, I'm glad that we didn't bring our 7 yr old boy. There was a horrifying fight scene with a huge dragon. My son would have had nightmares for a long time over that. Johnny Depp was brilliant as Madd Hatter. Great movie

The imax 3d experience was definately worth seeing. Unfortunately, the plot seemed to be missing a lot. The story seemed rushed throughout the movie and the characters were not well developed. It is still worth seeing in IMAX, but I wouldn't watch it otherwise.

Awesome movie! Wonderful animation, great actors with chemistry, and Burton wasn't dark - except where appropriate w/the Red Queen. Sure it went off script from Carol's version...but it was a fantastic ride!

1st- to those who say some of the characters were surprises and have never seen them, then you need to read Through the Looking Glass (the continuation of Alice in Wonderland)
2nd- this was not meant to be a re-make of Alice in Wonderland, so don't expect it
3rd- TIm Burton did a wonderful job with the characters and the story line. I saw it in IMAX 3D and am ready to go again. The colors were bright and it wasn't the dark kind of movie I was expecting. Johnny Depp played a great Mad Hatter.
4th- Yes kids can see it and it's not too scary, just a small scene that's not very frightening at all. I had a 7 yr old with me who has now planned her birthday party around the movie because she loved it so much.

Johnny Depp was well cast, I just wish his character had a bit more depth. Very well done film. The only complaint was that it was so LOUD even the little girl next to me had her fingers in her ears. So loud at times you could not hear the dialogue.
