I went into the movie with high expectations since it was a Tim Burton film, and it was not a complete disappointment. The stylized visuals and effects were amazing and made you want to travel to Wonderland but the story seem lacking. Its missing that last spark in there that would otherwise make this a perfect movie. I would definitely suggest going to see it in 3D otherwise it could lose your attention. Johnny Depp did an amazing job with his character but thought they should have left the dance scene out entirely, even though I know its for the kids. This is just my opinion so please see it for yourself.

Took my family to see this movie in 3d at the IMAX. It was wonderful. We have seen several IMAX movies but this one was wonderful. I have told all my patients about it. The coordination of animation with live actors is so realistic, I forgot what I was watching!

This movie was my first IMAX and 3D experience. It was a wonderful Tim Burton movie that held true to the best features of Alice in Wonderland while also having his flare for the unbelievable. It was a truly eye-catching and fun experience that was so well made you forgot you were in a packed movie theater. I really hope they decide to make another one!

I saw Alice in Imax 3D with my family, and it was eye-popping. The Cheshire Cat and Helena Bonham Carter's Red Queen were my favorites. Alice looks like a cross between Gwyneth Paltrow and Claire Danes, and I was truly drawn in by her reasons for wanting to follow the White Rabbit and escape from the pressures of her life. It was a humorous, lush film that would probably appeal most to Tim Burton fans - I have always been one. This is not one of his dark movies, however. This one is all about rich color and escapism. I am fine with him adding to and changing the story a bit. The best stories inspire us to keep creating. Loved it.

If you go see this be sure you get the FULL effect by seeing it in 3-D IMAX - AWESOME! I think I am hooked on 3-D! The story was GREAT, the characters were even better. I hope to see Alice in Wonderland II coming out in the near future!

Took my granddaughters to see this and I have to see that all the hype was true! The effects were beyond great and it brought a whole take to the Alice saga. Might be a little too intense for little ones (particularly the battle scene) but I would highly recommend this movie!

The last 3D movie I was at had the cheezy glasses, and you took them off every so often. This thing knocked our socks off! I now know why there is all the hype about 3D TV's! Even the previews for other movies were pretty cool! This family of 4, with an 11 and 5 year old, thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Great performances by the entire cast, fun to watch.

As huge a fan as I've been of Burton's work (Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas are two of my favorite movies of all time), this movie just fell a bit flat for me. It was enjoyable, and I got a few hardy laughs. But the action scenes were just incredibly weak, and for some reason I never really *cared* enough about any of the characters to get emotionally involved. So, I left feeling mildly entertained, and underwhelmed.

By far...BEST movie I've seen this year...in the fullest technical aspects. The 3-D process was, in no way, "hokey"...but instead excellent! And having known the "orig" version of Alice...Tim Burton did a magnificaent job of "tweaking" it enough and adding a different twist...that maintained the integrity of the the Classic story. Well-done and extremely entertaining.

Everybody must watch it. The movie is very colorful. Cheshire Cat is very adorable, especially his huge smile that comes right out of the screen. I also liked the Hedgehog, Monkeys and the Dormouse, they are very cute and funny.

This was a great movie to watch and to see - but the story and the action was uneven. At the end the two teenage girls that came with me said they did not like it and would not see it again. I found the plot too cumbersome with Wonderland nonsense that just did not add up to a satisfying story.

If you like Tim Burton, you'll really enjoy this movie. We saw the movie in IMAX 3D, which always enhances the experience. The effects and computer generated imaging are alot of fun, but not up to par with Avatar. After a while, the 3D effect was muted - I guess we got used to the novelty.
I gave the movie only 4 four stars because I think the character of Alice could have been a richer part. Mia Wasikowska is a tremendous actress but was not used to her potential.
The other actors were fine, and all seemed to be embellished with some type of special effect, all done extremely well - can't wait for Tim Burton's next flick!

Most Alice in Wonderland movies in my opinion tend to be very childish in scope. This movie with its dark essence and nightmarish characters bring Alice into the 21st Century. It may be too dark for children under 10 but I feel that most adults will like this newest version.

I wasn't even sure I wanted to go to the movie, but we took the whole family - 2 kids, 9 & 11, and mom and dad. We ALL enjoyed the movie immensely! It was fun/silly/slightly scary at parts, but all-in-all it was a great night out at the movies. :)

I found it a great appropriation of the original children's story. It's dark at certain points, but foremost, I feel the original Wonderland story was a dark paradigm, but was simply sugar coated for a child's book. The movie also should have been named something different, because it's not truly the original story. It's sort of an "Alice returns to Wonderland story." If you're a Tim Burton fan, you'll really love this movie!! Visual effects were out-of-this-world!!

The best thing about this movie was that you can not take notice of all the hidden nuances or visual effects in just one showing! I can not wait to see this movie again. I loved it and I usually don't like Tim Burton movies. Bravo!

Everyone from my teenagers to 40-ish brother in law enjoyed this movie.Very well written and very impressed with visual affects,was my first IMAX.

still a good movie but could be better... I'm not exactly sure what's missing but I know something is missing.
Overall mood and lighting are superb and beautiful, maybe the story could be better?
