Ok, this isn't an Alice like the book. Hopefully you know that already. And it's flawed. But it's beautiful visually and the story they DO use works fairly well. Depp has some really GOOD moments in the film but doesn't hijack it into another Depp movie, allowing the other characters to show their strengths. The depictions of various mental disorders are gentle and well done and overall I liked it very much.

I was very disappointed in the movie overall BUT the good thing was the 3D some very cool parts... wish there were more 3D parts in the movie and if they actually actually made the movie similar to the first one it would of been EXCELLENT Movie should of been named ALICE RESCUING THE MAD HATTER... "The movie wasn't bad, I thought it was "cute" loved the 3-D.. Johnny Depp was awesome, and the rest of the characters were great.

Lucious colors, beautiful clothes, all around amazing. The music was great with exception of the Avril Lavigne song at the closing credits. Unsure why that was even there, an afterthought maybe? The song did not match the tone and wonder of Alice. A few things were off about the movie - Anne Hatheway and the weird position of her hands...seemed ill fit for the role. Someone a bit more ethereal would have been nice. All in all, a great movie. Alice herself, magical and strong. I love Crispin Glover in it as well.

I usually love the set-up of a Tim Burton film, but the rest does not measure up. In Alice, the characters are engaging and Burton's unique view delivers a wonderful experience through out the movie. Alice character is winning, and Johny Depp creates another character he will be remembered for. Enchanting

The movie wasn't bad, Johnny Depp was awesome, and the rest of the characters were played well. But I was really disappointed with the caterpillar. He didn't blow the letters with the smoke like he did in the animated movie from my childhood, and wasn't portrayed as well as it should have been. This is one of my favorite characters....so I was pretty disappointed. :(
Overall, the movie was pretty good - it just lacked a wow factor. It didn't live up to all the hype.

The story was....generic and predictable... The acting was....good in parts but mostly under par.... Visually, it didn't look as realistic as I would have liked, and definitely wasn't really up to the Tim Burton standard. Costumes were great though. This movie was basically everything we've seen the cast/director do before, but not quite as good. Had it been done 10 years-- maybe I'd say it was fantastic. There were some very good moments, to be fair, but as a whole, I'd just say-- go see Avatar instead.

I think Tim Burton did a GREAT job with this story! When I grow up I want to BE Alice! Great dresses, dragon slaying, I believe I can do anything attitude! Loved it! It was a delight for the senses and it really breathed new life into a great old story. It wasn't for children necessarily, though. Maybe very mature children. Not younger than 10, I wouldn't think.

Normally I don't like Tim Burton films, but his approach worked very well for this film and gave it a spin that really worked if you have a historical interest in the Alice books and their social background. Casting was excellent; Anne Hathaway does not let the White Queen be too perfect & Johnny Depp gives the Hatter a madness that "works" and is not the usual doofiness alone. Burton could have skipped the dancing, though, that took away from the film.

We enjoyed the special effects, the 3D and the CGI. The movie was a 7.5 / 10 but lacked the ability to draw me in in a personal way. The overall storyline highlighted that Alice was becoming an adult and a person of her own will, although this did seem somewhat evident from her character before the Wonderland experience too. Johnny Depp's character was odd and strange but charming. I thought the blending between what was real (ie actors) and what was special effects was seamless and the Queen of Hearts is a perfect example of that. The White Queen was a bit odd looking and not a very deep character. Overall the movie was beautiful to watch but maybe needed a bit more character development.

I would recommend this movie to age groups from 7 and up ages. The actress that played Alice was great. Of Course, Johnny Depp was great! Anne Hathaway was a great surprise, too. Tim Burton takes a classic and really puts his great twist on it.

We took our two children (11 & 14) to see this movie and they loved it. It is definitely a typical Tim Burton movie, the look of the movie is very gray and dark but I loved it and so did the kids. Johnny Depp was fantastic as usual. My 11 year old did experience a headache after the movie. 3D was ok but probably would have been just as good without it. I would definitely recommend this movie to others.

I took my 11 year old daughter and her friend. They were both very excited to see the movie and had heard good things about it. Unfortunately about 35 minutes into it they started getting headaches from the 3-D. The costumes were wondful but the action was slow and what they later described as boring. They lost interest in the movie and their headaches became worse and so we left early. The theater was kind enough to refund our money. Even though I grew up with the original Alice in Wonderland, I would not recommend this movie.

We took two grandkids (11 & 6) with us and we all came out saying the same things...What a great movie! Kids those ages are hard to keep involved in any movie, but we had no problems today. This movie keeps everyone interested and there are no 'dead spots' when you can go get more popcorn or drinks. But the kids didn't even notice... Johnny Depp is so great as all the characters are. The movie is one that I will get on blue ray and on DVD as soon as it comes out. The kids have asked for their own copy all ready!

Johnny Depp is perfection. The make-up and costumes do not disappoint. Alice in Wonderland leaves you feeling you are part of the dream.Do not miss this in 3D.
Story ending is a little weak, but ..It is still Alice in Wonderland. Small children may be disturbed by a few of the scenes.The 3D makes it very lifelike,and a little scary in places.Over all..Wonderful Wonderful Wonderland.

After watching Avatar in 3D my wife and I have been trying to watch more of our movies in the 3D formats. We saw Alice in Wonderland in "Disney Enhanced 3D" at the AMC located in Downtown Disney. It uses the standard (non-IMAX) technology but on a larger floor-to-ceiling screen. It isn't the "oh-my-god that <insert thing here> just jumped out at me, but instead gives a sense of depth enough that you feel like you are a part of the story.
The story was entertaining, and they did a good job of continuing the story from the first Alice in Wonderland movie. My wife said that it did a good job of pulling elements from both books (I was unaware that there was more than one). My only complaint is that the movie was shorter than I would have liked, but in no way did the story feel rushed or incomplete.
Overall, I would recommend this movie for anyone with children or who is a child at heart. Good story and good fun. Just be aware that the movie is more a sequel instead of a remake - I think Burton learned his lesson from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

This is a reasonably entertaining flick. Other than some characters and how Alice got into "Wonderland" in the first place, it has virtually nothing to do with the Lewis Carrol books. If you're a stickler, that can be a problem, but if you're open to a new tale, it's entertaining.
