I took my 7 year old daughter to see Alice in 3D and we both loved it. The story and action were not too scary for her and the story was clear for her to follow. The visuals were wonderfully creative and the 3D was used in a natural way; not lots of things popping out as is often the case in kids' movies.

I enjoyed this take on Alice in Wonderland. It was a more grown up, girl power type of movie. No longer was Alice a helpless little girl at the mercy of forces around her! Bravo for creating a modern version of this revered story. Wish I had this Alice to watch when I was a little girl. :) I enjoyed Depp because he is always great but loved both of the Queens. Just not a movie for the guys!!

I really like Depp & really wanted to like this movie more but, to be honest, it just wasn't as great as the hype beforehand. I saw it in 3D & glad I did not spend money on the IMAX.
The characters act as expected but there is nothing special to make this a must see in IMAX movie. Not for small children, there are no characters or animation that will appeal to them. Not too many special effects as far as action.
Entertaining & if you enjoy the story you will like what they have done in the movie. The Queen was actually the best part for me.
See it--- but in the morning & just 3D or less-don't waste money on IMAX.

This was a good rendeition of the Disney classic. You can tell the movie was done by Tim Burton. Not a child friendly movie as Johnny Depp plays a dark Mad Hatter. Thought this might be the darkest vision yet, but it was well tempered and Mr. Burton did an admirable job overall. The Mad Hatter was perfection, and the development of Alice was good. Just what you would expect from Tim Burton & Johnny Depp. I took 4 12 yr olds and we all loved it. It was wonderful and we did not want it to end. Some moments had you on the edge of your seat, some moments were tender and touching. I did not bring my 6 or 8 yr olds - which was a good decision. Although the movie is rated PG, there are some disturbing images - and in 3D it is even creepier.

Everything was great (acting, animation, etc.) except the 3D. Looks like they were pandering to the people who get dizzy from 3D and keeping it minimal, as this movie may as well NOT have been done in it. So much more could have been done. Disappointing. I never read the book and really hadn't any pre concieved ideas about the movie which may or not sway my reveiw-you'll have to judge. Being a forty something male I may not be th e typical audience member but with that said I really enjoyed the movie. The characters above the rabbit hole would have made a cute movie as well . I especially emjoyed all the strange characters that were in wonderland-it really was a wonderland-really were clevely scripted and drawn. Good movie and the special effects were exciting to watch through 3D. There were a few mature situations in the movie so I don't think that small children sould necessarily go to see this movie.

Wow-- was I expecting so much more! I dozed off at certain times! Yes- I would recommend just to see the set decor and special imaging- BUT- the 3D was a waste of money! There really was nothing that made it worth the extra expense. I am so disappointed the course the movie took- it felt choppy- and the most vital part for me - to see Johnny Depp-was a major let down- he was incoherent and inaudible at times- but not funny or pertinent- it made no sense-he could have been used so much better!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Just got back from seeing "The Battle for Wonderland". Or was it, "Return to Wonderland"? "Lord of the Wonderlands"? Whatever, it sure WASN'T Alice in Wonderland. Now, I'm not a stickler for book adaptations that don't stick to every detail of the book. But this was "Alice" in name only. pretty much. Some very good acting and effects. Other than that... 109 minutes gone from my life. Sadly, one of the lesser performances came from Johnny Depp. He seemed to be channeling every crazy guy he's ever been in a Burton film. "He, he's acting like Ed Wood!". "Hey, he's acting like Willie Wonka." Through some non-Burton Capt. Jack Sparrow in there, and that pretty much sums up his performance. Oh, and couldn't done without the Michael Jackson tribute dance at the end. And speaking of the end, it's only then that we see glimpses of what Alice's first visit to Wonderland was like. And it's MUCH better looking than this movie. So WHY didn't they make THAT movie, rather than this LOTR/Narnia/Harry Potter mash up? And Lewis Carroll is listed as one of the writers? I hardly think so. Oh, and Avril Lavigne signs the end song of the titles. Just as she did for the movie version of "Eragon". You'd think they'd have taken a hint... Well, at least Christopher Lee makes an audio cameo. I'll give it that. But not much more.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
