This movie is BRILLIANT. Tim Burton's best ever and Johnny Depp is his usual amazing self. Helena Bonham Carter is perfect as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway is ethereal as the White Queen. I had read the reviews and wasn't expecting more than another 3D eye candy offering but I was blown away by two things; first, how WRONG the reviews are and two what a thoroughly enjoyable movie this turned out to be.

I don't know what has happened to Tim Burton. He always relied on his unique style to draw you into his world while delivering a solid story. Unfortunately for me, it seems as though style has overtaken substance. All of the characters seemed to just be "hanging out" waiting for something relating to the weak story to just magically happen. I'm all for mixing action and comedy, but neither were done well. I really wanted to enjoy this movie, but I was never given a chance. Maybe it's time for Burton to work with some other actors. He's gone to the well one too many times.

I took my kids and some of their friends there and they all loved it. My husband and I loved it too. Great visuals an excellent 3D film! I wouldn't take little children (toddlers) but great for children, teens and adults! Not like the animated film it is more true to the book.

We went to the first showing at our theater and it was standing room only. The movie was great, when Johnny Depp did his dance at the end of the movie, everyone in the audience laughed and applauded. I absolutely loved the 3D effects and so did my husband. I did recommend everyone that I work with to go and see it. Like most of Tim Burton's movies, this movie is visually stunning. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie lacks the depth of his previous films. Beyond all of the outlandish make up and costumes, lies characters who lack any sort of depth or background stories. Depp, Hathaway, and Carter are left with nothing to work with, so they must compensate by overacting at every turn. Johnny Depp's Madhatter dance toward the end of the movie, was one of Hollywood's most cringe-worthy moments. Burton and Depp would do well to part company for a while, because they seemed to have become bored with one another. It's come to a point, where I can't tell one of Depp's weirdo Burton characters from the next.

A great movie, wonderful done! Johnny Deep a little Caribbean yet, but as monster as ever! Definitely 3D option will be the best choice, the CGI is amazingly well done. Alice in Wonderland was actually a very good movie. I was pleasantly surprised because in my mind I always thought the story to be too childish and "disney" for my liking. But, boy was I wrong with this version. Tim Burton did a SUPERB job of capturing the imperfection of Wonderland, and creating a new twist on what I thought couldn't be "twisted".

I've yet to be disappointed when seeing a Tim Burton movie! Even though this one was a tad bit dry, and some of the psychedelics I remember as a kid were toned down, i would see this movie over and over again and was glad I saw it on the big screen in 3D. Excellent movie!
