I do not like horror movies, and the reason I went to Alice in Wonderland is because my family wanted me to. My grandchildren wanted me with. I had heard it was a designed after a horror movie. I did not feel that way at all. I enjoyed the movie. I liked the special effects, and I liked the Alice in the movie. I think she did a great job and should be up for an award. I would recommend others to go see the movie. I would like to see Disney recreate other movies like beauty and the beast, tinkerbell and others with live characters, not cartoon. I love 3D. This was my first 3D movie experience, and I look forward to seeing more of 3D in the future, technology continues to march on!

I never read the book as a child so I had no idea what it was about...and neither did the friend I went with. I thought it was interesting for a fairy tale. The friend was bored stiff. I kept thnkiing the 3D was being done the same time as Avatar...and it held up pretty well in comparison. Hopefully 3D is NOT going to be required for future movies. Not that important for most movies, maybe this one included. The blue butterfly at the end was the best use yet of 3D..like what my expectations of something REALLY cool.. we were promised 20 years ago.

I'd walked in thinking that this would be like Charle & the Chocolate Factory. Tim Burton going with a possibly more true to the source tale. Now I didn't read Charlie & The Chocolate Factory... but I did Alice in Wonderland as well as Through the Looking Glass. The movie is decent enough for something to do but the new backstory for Alice, mixed in with Tim Burton's usual actors make for a dull time. Also, I saw this in 3d which made it more pleasant but still... comparing it to Big Fish... it seems like there was little imagination in this at all.
The main thing though you'll notice is that it seems this movie is more simple then its animated counterpart either way though its enjoyable but not memorable.

thought this was a great, entertaining movie for adults and kids 8 and older. Younger than that may become afraid at certain scenes in the movie, although we certainly saw younger ones there, I would not have taken my child younger than 8. Would have preferred seeing it in Imax, if you can't then don't waste your time in 3D. The effects were not that great to warrant the eyestrain you get from wearing those glasses for two hours.

I really enjoyed this movie. The graphics were good, the story moved along with no long, drawn out, useless details as some movies have. We saw the movie at Movie Tavern at Mill Run, and the only complaint I had was the screen was a bit small, compared to if we had seen it at Marcus Cinema. But all in all the experience was awesome and the movie was fantastic!

The original book was dark and fantastic, so I did not expect a bubbly family movie. Besides a little gore, even the dungeon stuff was not overdone, and there was not one fart joke. My peeve: No filmmaker been able to smoothly join man and beast, as in a human riding a dragon or bandersnatch. The scenes of Bayard on his horse and Alice on the bandersnatch were jerky and contrived. C'mon filmmakers - it's 2010. Figure it out. My fav: Depp as Hatter. I am not a huge Depp fan. I think he is a fairly limited actor. However, his style FITs this role, and his emoting during the fantastic mood shifts was great. Overall it's one of the better films of the year, and I would see it again, even paying the 3D price - that's how much I liked it.

I was so excited to go watch ALICE IN WONDERLAND. To my dismay, the movie was a flop! I think the best 3D graphic was the little butterfly at the very end of the movie... the 3D graphics were not "all that." And the story followed every other Alice In Wonderland movie, adding nothing special at all. I wish I had waited until the movie came out on DVD, instead I am out $38 dollars in movie tickets for myself and my two girls. At least the popcorn at the theater was good... that was about the only good thing out my night out. My 16 yr old did not like the movie, nor did my 10 yr old. Johnny Depps acting was just like his acting in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory... so, if you liked him in that movie, you will like him in this movie.

I had a wonderful time at this movie. The 3-D affects and the intense colors were some of the best ever. The White Queen's character seemed rather weak, and I didn't like the floaty hands thing she kept doing, but the others were charming. The scene of Alice's return and rejection of Hamish right up until she was offered the apprenticeship in her father's former company was terribly predictable. However, so was the appearance of Absalom to accompany her on further adventures as she left for China, yet I loved it for the closing touch.

I was expecting an awful lot based on the hype and while I got a lot I didn't get as much as I expected. I saw it in 3-D and not sure if 3-D helped this picture all that much. The makeup and visual effects were very good and they sort of followed the original story in a number of aspects but this was an Alice who returned to Wonderland but didn't seem to remember her first visit particularly well. Also, some of the characters were off, at least from what I expected. The grandkids enjoyed it and that was one of the main reasons we went so enjoy the effects and it is worth seeing.

I loved this movie! I saw it in 3-D and that's what I would recommend. Great costumes, especially the armour. The direction of the storyline was not what I expected but it was detailed and refereced the original story and captured your attention. Overall, the story was engaging, the costumes were very cool. It made for an enjoyable evening.

Visual effects and 3-D great. However, I nodded off several times and my 11 year old grandson turned to me at the end and said, "well, that was a waste of my time!" His friend said he liked it. ?? Not a great movie for young boys.

I went to see Alice in Wonderland at midnight with a bunch of friends and positively LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! Johnny Depp amazed us with his madness and freaked them out just a little. Tim Burton's 'Alice' is a wonderful retelling of the classic tale. This is the first time I've seen a 3D movie in many, many years and it works great; even with my glasses. This is not our grandmother's 'Alice' to be sure. But, Depp is fantastic as the Mad Hatter, as is Carter as the Red queen. The 3D visuals are used to enhance the story line, and are not over the top. The plot and acting are very good, with a fast pace through out the film. The only negative I found was the makeup for the white queen, Anna Hathaway. It made one of the most beautiful women in films look like a zombie.

Although I was never a fan of the actual story, I LOVED (as well as my two daughters 11 & 13) the movie. Watching it in 3D was phenominal! The graphics, costumes, story line, it was everything Tim Burton put into it with his unique style. Of course, Johnny Depp is a surpurb actor in his own right. Certainly worth watching!!!

I felt that Tim Burton was an afterthought with this movie. You could see Burton come through in bits and pieces of the movie. For Burton fans, it was kind of a let down. I still thought it was a good movie, but not fantastic. I felt the computer graphics were a bit "messy". The tall love interest of the Queen of Hearts was definitely where you saw the less than amazing graphics at it's worst. His movements were very choppy and you could just tell that it was computerized. Johnny Depp was amazing as always, he really took that character and made it his own. I would still say go see it if you get the chance. It's Alice and Wonderland, after all :)

THis is the best movie I have seen all year..The actors were excellent as well. I think this is one of the best movies that Johnny Depp has ever performed in. They couldn't have picked a better actor for this role.

Alice in Wonderland did a great job of integrating familiar characters from the story with a new plot line that was engaging and entertaining. Our entire family enjoyed it. Sometimes the actors' speech was difficult to understand, but it didn't affect our enjoyment of the movie.

I have been very excited about the movie for some time now. Being a Tim Burton film, I expected to be drawn in by the characters but it almost seems as if Burton relied on the publics intimacy with the characters from books and other movies, that he didnt even try to draw the viewer in. The characters other than the red queen were just part of the backround. Avoid the first 5 rows in 3D, it was a struggle to watch the movie.

I think Tim Burton hit the mark on this one. I was entertained the entire time, which passed quite quickly as the movie kept you engrossed. My 9(boy) & 11(girl) yr. old grand-kids loved it and the boy never asked me "When is the movie going to be over". Johnny Depp made an excellent Mad Hatter. 3D was well done -see in 3D. I highly recommend this movie for any adult & kids over the age of 6. Kind of intense for the real young set. Only the parents can make that call.

Burton's quirky style normally runs to his plot lines as well. This story line seemed tired. Even Disney tends to build something a little less ... predictable or at least works in things that are a combination of adult appropriate and child appropriate. The movie was just OK, although I found myself thinking, "Let's just be done with this." Acting was fine and the cinematography was amazing (although a bit too dark at times ... literally), but the plot was ho-hum. I expected more and was disappointed.
