We were expecting unusual. . .Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Alice, but this was sooooo imaginative, sooooo captivating, sooooooo interesting!!!!!! Tim Burton's personal style and vision make this movie a must see. The production value alone makes a trip worth the price of a ticket. The performance of Johnny Depp is hauntingly sweet. Anne Hathaway has a dreamy, ethereal quality and Mia Wasikowska is the perfect innocent turned warrior. Helena Bonham Carter is the queen you love to hate. The movie introduces you to a myriad of minor characters that are almost too adorable for words. Admittedly, having never read the book, many of these characters have probably been less invented and more adopted by Burton's genius.

I didn't care for Anne Hathaway's performance. It seemed like she was trying to hard to immitate the wicked witch of the west; I just didn't find her naturally graceful. I think the best performances were by the actress who played Alice and the actress who played the red queen. Overall, I just felt like something was missing in the movie. They did a good job on making the dragon thing look creepy! However, the fight seens were unrealistic and I didn't feel the threat of the red queen. They spoke a lot about how bad she was, but I didn't feel it; I never felt afraid of her.

I thought overall the storyline was good, graphics were awesome and the acting wasn't to bad. I definitely recommend this movie for the Alice and Wonderland lovers. If you haven't seen Alice and Wonderland before then you might have mixed feelings about the movie I thought it was a good movie, but not as good as it was hyped to be. Depp did a great job as the hater. Hathaway did an alright job, but her character in this movie was a little weird. Helena did a great job and Mia did an a good job.

Everything iabout this movei is top-notch. Directing, acting, writing, costumes, and sets are A+. I was hooked by both the story and the visuals from beginning to end.
Have you read the critics? They have a herd mentality and the groupthink is that this movie is a failure. Lots of sniping and catty insults directed mostly at Tim Burton. Why? Doesn't he play their game their way? Not a good interview? Does he openly disdain these negative nabobs of negativism? He should. Th joke is on the no fun gang. The movie is a huge hit and the public loves it. Most criics were weened on sour pickles, or so it seems.

Alice in wonderland has many different conceptions so don't even try to base it off of the Alice in wonderland you see from the Disney movies. prepare to be weirded out by Johnny Depps reactions as the mad hatter and Helena Bonham Carter's head of bulbous proportions. I enjoyed the flick. It was entertaining no doubt. However, unless your very young physically or at heart this movie will most likely not hold your attention for an hour and 49 mins. If your there to be enveloped into a good story line and immersed into a new world then you may as well skip it. Pretty digital flowers and forgettable music score blend seamlessly together to create a very dull movie. Dont blow your cash watching it in 3d. Not worth it. First off, 3D is a cool novelty for about 10 minutes, and then I wanted to throw the glasses away. It doesn't enhance the movie in story or the way it relates to the viewer. It just looks cool on a few scenes. One-size-fits-all does not work on glasses. Get over this novelty, Hollywood.
Ok, Johnny Depp is a great actor, but lately he seems to play the same character but just in a different costume. No big surprises there, and as with the whole movie, there were no surprises. They told you what would happen and nothing deviated from the plan. Very predictable movie.
As a big fan of Lewis Carroll's work, it was an enjoyable movie. It looked great and had some funny lines. Tim Burton meshing with Disney is an interesting concept.

That pretty much sums it up - I woke up to watch Alice kill the Jaba (not going to try to spell the name here :)) and see Anne Hathaway's character...an odd one.
However, I did especially like what Alice's character says to young girls (an older alike) who see the movie - don't be afraid to be yourself.
We would have left, but I was comfy sleeping on my husband's shoulder and he enjoyed most part of the movie.

Tim Burton really did a wonderful job with this movie, and the cast of characters is to be applauded. The start of the movie was a little slow as we "caught up" with Alice. Once she fell down the rabbit hole the movie seemed to fly. I found myself jumping and dodging flying objects throughout the movie.The visuals were fabulous and the story line never got boring. Johnny Depp was unbelievable, and I am beginning to think there isn't anything that man cannot do when it comes to film.
If you are concerned about children seeing it: 10 and up will be fine; but younger children should probably not be taken to the 3-D version. (unless you have a little Tim Burton) The film is great and well worth the money, popcorn and drink!

Overall the movie was good though I won't call it Tim Burton's best film. The visuals are amazing; wonderland is made real. The film's music was great and sets the mood of the story. What caught my eye is the costumes which I'm sure are going to be big hits this Halloween. Johnny Depp's performance left something to be desired. It felt like he was taking characters from previous movies and combining them to make the Mad Hatter. I wish Anne Hathaway acted a little more naturally as the White Queen rather than acting phony. I really liked Mia Wasikowska as Alice and hope to see her in more films. I recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy, fashion or getting lost in wonderland, but don't take my opinion; go see it and decide.

I really enjoyed this classic remake. Tim Burton & Johnny Depp together Again after 20 years! I loved the Nod to Edward Scissor Hands. I do think this movie would be just fine without the 3-D. I tend to find it rather distracting to tell the truth. I did not think it benefited from it especially. I hope people will go out and see it! Most people only seem to know the Disney version of Alice and have never read the Lewis Carrol books. I think it's a fine introduction to the classic tale. Oh,and I loved seeing Crispin Glover again.He is a all time favorite playing creepy!

I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. The best part was just how beautiful the movie was ... visually stunning. For me, the 3D effects were on the back burner. I was more intrigued by the story and characters. The acting and direction was superb. A must-see and definitely worth the hype!

Visually wonderful and the characters are portrayed true to my idea of their originals. I don't seem to get very involved in the plot, however. I was an observer, on-looking a fantasy belonging to someone else. Well worth seeing, but not very warm. Performances good, but Predictable.
