This movie follows the novel much more than previous "Alice" productions. Johnny Depp was perfect in his role. The Queen of Hearts was hilarious. My only disappointment was how the "card army" was portrayed. They looked more like armadillos than cards! Other than that it was a very entertaining experience. Loved the 3D!

At first I was skeptical about Mia and how she would perform as Alice. I have now learned to trust Tim Burton because she did a fantastic job. There is not one thing I felt this movie lacked. It is a movie for everyone, if your the kind of watcher that is in it for the story it was very easy to follow despite taking place in the nonsensical Wonderland. For those into the acting with an all-star line up of Johnny Depp, HBC, and great voices like Alan Rickman there were no flaws. As for the animation it blew me away. Once again overall it is a must see for anyone and everyone in the family.

an beautiful add on the the Alice in Wonderland books. this movie came to life in 3D and it truly captivated the audience. although in my opinion it should have been rated PG-13 (it had a few to many disembodied heads for PG), but beside that it was a truly amazing movie

I love how the movie wasn't a remake of the original Alice in wonderland but centered around her going back after she had grown up. The graphics were amazing and the 3-D experience made the entire thing more enjoyable. They had a great cast and as always I love the performances given any time you have Depp and Burton together! I went into "Alice" with low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised- there are a few stupid/silly gags obviously aimed at kids (who this movie isn't really appropriate for, anyway), but they were brief and the rest of the film made up for it.
Wasikowska is the runaway star of the film, followed by Hathaway as an impressively different character for her, then Depp who while great as always didn't give us much we haven't seen from him before. My only disappointment is with Bonham Carter's Red Queen, who just never really seemed evil or threatening enough- you pity her more than you fear her.
That said, the film is fun, exciting, dark, and a wild ride- well worth the price of admission. Maybe even twice... =)

Alice In Wonderland is truly a good time to be had by all. Tim Burton's continuing relationship with Disney allows Alice to be proof of a brilliant match. The acting in the film is quite good, with its regular tongue in cheek Burton appeal added, and of course the visuals are a true feast for the eyes. The story will lead you on a wonderful adventure that will certainly lead younger (and older) viewers to look up Lewis Carroll's original creations. 3D or not, a wonderful film.

A complete waste of time and money. This was not Alice in Wonderland as Louis Carroll imagined it. It should be called 'Alice Has a Bad Acid Trip! As a 3-D movie it was totally primitive. 4 levels of one dimensional cut outs is the way I will describe it: A ground row, characters, trees, and a cyclorama. It never blended into a real experience. The best moment was when the butterfly flew into us at the end of the movie. Best because it was finally over. Little character development and a real nightmare.

Entertaining and enjoyable. Loved all the characters, except the White Queen. Not crazy about her costumes, make-up or the direction. I loved all the other characters, costumes, sets and direction, the music was very effective as well. I do feel that a bit of the fantasy and fun was missing Alice had more fun and didn't really move through Wonderland like a human. I also felt that the 3 D could have had more impact and been used more.

Visually stunning, yet there is something missing in this film. Perhaps it is the darker side of me wanting to see the Queen of Hearts get her execution, or see the Mad Hatter truly go postal on someone, or see the Cheshire Cat be more conniving. Maybe I wished the white queen inspired me more, or that I felt the dog got his day. So well acted, with a few remarkable and quotable script lines, and a movie truly meant for 3D (I saw the 2D version, too--ok, but not as great to experience).

The movie was fine. The system at movietickets.com STINKS. Without the EXACT credit card stored in my computer to make purchased on my person, the idiot manager at Glendale's Mann Marketplace 10 refused to let my party into the show, never lind I had a PRINTED RECEIPT with CONFIRMATION NUMBER on my person. I was not the only person with the same problem at the theatre. CHANGE YOUR SYSTEM OR I WILL NEVER USE IT AGAIN.

I tend not to listen to "critics" opinions of movies because most all of them tend to be off-base. Alice in Wonderland, in my personal opinion, was quite enjoyable all around. One thing the "critics" did get right is that Johnny Depp once again pulled off an incredible performance; the man simply walks on water when it comes to his craft! Helena Bonham Carter plays a deliciously wicked Red Queen - well teamed again with Johnny Depp. Anne Hathaway was also very good with a subtle mix of innocent wickedness bound by complete moral control. Not only did I enjoy the film but so did the sold-out theater audience I sat with. So much for "critics" opinions - what do they know anyway. Good fun for the entire family.

A beautifully made film for the eyes but we think that it was a slight miss in terms of interpreting the original story....i was hoping for it to be a little darker and little more mysterious like the original. First, Technicalities-
The 3D was just "OK" but the 2D version has virtually all the advantages of the 3D. Save your 3D glasses for CGI productions like "UP" and "Monsters vs Aliens." It just wasn't that memorable in this movie.
Now, the Movie itself-
I went with my 6 year old son, who is only vaguely familiar with the Lewis Carroll story. I have actually read the original story. We both found it to be enjoyable. Somehow the screen writers wrote a tangible plot into the tale, and that made a huge difference!
I thought Johnny Depp did a good job NOT being Capt Jack Saprrow- Hat's off to him!
Other actors, production details were pretty good. I give it 3/5 because I this truly is only above average, all things considered.

I really good movie, once again Johnny Depp excels in his acting, and Tim Burton pulls off again an awesome movie!!!I never liked Alice in Wonderland when I was young, but this version I can learn to love. Anne Hathaway I can say did good also, for a change in her types of movies, and the wonderful Helena Bonham Carter another great role for her =D..Overall I would watch this movie a million times

i would wait for video so you can move it along during the dreadfully slow parts. very disappointed and did not live up to the hype or expectation. oh well.

This movie is a sequel to the traditional Alice in Wonderland Story. But in wonderland things happen again everytime Alice visits so it is a sequel were we experience the same wonderful story of Alice. I loved the new twists that Tim Burton brings into it. It makes it so much more interesting.
