Mia Wasikowska was absolutely terrific in the title role.Helena Bonham Carter was wonderful as the Red Queen. Anne Hathaway was expectantly cool and regal. Johnny Depp was fascinating as the Mad Hatter.
The message of the movie - we determine our destinies by the choices we make and we each have the strength and wisdom to make our own decisions that are best for us, is a great theme to twist a story around.
The 3D glasses fit over my glasses, no worries there.

Like Avatar, the only real redeeming feature of this film was the 3d animation. Tim Burton's vision was somewhat masterful, but the story was too blande to complement the grandiose nature of the cinematography. Mature audiences should understand that this is nothing more than a children's movie with impressive graphics. It is not like Shreck which catered to all audiences. There was no real character development at all. While Wonka was too immature for anyone above the age of 10, at least you felt that his character changed in some meaningful way. The fact that she developed some added element of bravery does little to distinguish this film from others like the Wizard of Oz.

We loved the movie. I thought it would be a little too "grown up" for my 5 year old, but she loved it, and followed the story line well. The graffics were awsome and the whole story in it self was great. I loved how they still incorporated the original. Johnny Depp was great. He brought something magical yet disturbing to the film. I recommend seeing it in 3D.

Wonderfully fun! But what else do expect from a collaboration of Disney, Tim Burton, and Johnny Depp?! It wasnt what I expected but was even more fun. My whole family, all 8, ages from 7 to 39 loved this film. The 3D just made it more enjoyable. A complete visual treat.

If I didn't like the way TB remade Charlie & TCF, why believe I would accept his vision for AIW? Needs to be re-titled to 'Alice RETURNS to Wonderland' or 'The Looking Glass' or anything other than the original title. If you're using original title... make a remake of original. I agree with others that story is choppy / hard to follow. Couldnt discern things Depp said; and without having previously read the books (only Disney orig) had heard of Jabberwoky and didn't know what a Bandersnatch was so I didn't understand how they fit in... which I found frustrating. Extremely disappointed with lack of a 'Very Merry Unbirthday' song, and moronic dance scene that should have been left out.

I feel that Tim Burton and Disney collaborated very well. The movie was kept grim and curious while still keeping a playful and fun atmosphere.
The story is quick paced and will make you smile and also question whats coming next.
Like most Disney movies, this one will sure to excite you and bring out your inner child.
The digital and 3D enviornments are deep and colorful. I do feel that some instances items moved too quick as to blur on the screen. Other wise a great use of technology I liked everything in the movie... except the dance. heh. kinda silly. Johnny you are still the man! All characters were viberant and playful. They definately had their muchness.
Just go see it.

What is the fascination with Depp? I just don't get it... didn't like the casting at all... 3D effects sucked...mostly my fault because I was late and had to sit up front... 13.50 a ticket?? Great visually, great acting, overall very very entertaining.
Poor editing (story-wise...story is choppy and incoherent) and Disney Digital 3D sucks. Real 3D (on Avatar) was superior to this...I had a hard time seeing the 3D for this movie. It just looked a little less than flat, like in a diorama.

The visual imagery is almost too good, and the 3-D makes it kaleidoscopic and very lively. The story is cute, and it was easy to follow for little kids and grown-ups. I was expecting a little bit more out of Tim Burton. Alice doesn't surpass The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeny Todd, or even Edword Scissor Hands. In defense, those movies are pretty hard to beat. I honestly found other versions of Alice creepier than this one. The author was on an Acid trip while writing the story for goodness sake! I fell in love with The March Hare, The Caterpillar, and The Queen Of Hearts. Alice and the White Queen were disappointing. The dance number by Alice and The Mad Hatter seemed out of place. Alice showed her bare legs during the dance though, and it was slightly amusing but still out of place.

My friends and I loved this movie! The 3D was excellent and it was beautiful to watch. Johnny Depp was wonderful as always, Crispin Glover, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mia Wasikowska were excellent in their parts as well. I went into this movie with low expectations but I was very pleasantly surprised. The 3d was a nice addition to a very engaging and well put together movie!

"I thought that the visuals of the movie were outstanding. The feel of the movie was very Tim Burton, if you like him you will love this movie. There is a great synergy that Burton and Johnny Depp play off yet again in this movie. I forgot I was looking at Depp and just saw the Mad Hatter. Very well done indeed!"

In my opinion the movie had awesome visuals, so if you're a person that likes to sit and just enjoy the scenery and doesn't take the actual depth of a movie or how well the plot is orchestrated into account then you will definitely enjoy this movie.

Considering how long I've been waiting to see this movie, I have to say that I was disappointed on several levels. First I really thought I'd be more immersed in the 3D. For the subject matter, I thought the 3D should have been more intense. I also thought some of the characters were "underdone" and/or undercast from the rabbit to the Mad Hatter. Johnny Depp is capable of so much more than his character required. And I seem to recall that either the frog or one of the other characters sat on the mushrooms in the original version while talking to Alice. Adding some of the original Jefferson Airplane music to the movie sondtrack would have also been a nice touch and definitely doable.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Movie was good but would have been better if I had watched the first Alice shortly before going.
