I loved this movie. The 3-D IMAX experience was unique and perfectly suited to this type of film. The cinematography was exceptional and the use of special effects was marvelous. It truly was a fantastical experience that transported the viewer to a "wonderland". Johnny Depp was amazing as the "Hatter".

Although this was as excellent movie it was not quite as "amazing" as you were led to believe. The acting was excellent, the scenery rich, lush, but sometimes I think the dialog was a bit above the minds of the younger audience members and sometimes a bit too dark for them. It was definitely geared towards the older child and the adult. This movie should get an oscar next year!

Tim Burton has done it again! He recreated a wonderful disney classic, and has made it better ten fold! The live action along with the CGI graphics were amazingly well done. I expected more from Tim Burton. Perhaps "Disney" held him back to a PG-rated level. It was actually more like a G-rated movie. Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and the insanely vivid story made for endless possibilities, but I found myself yawning throughout. Effects were superb. Burton's landscape of Wonderland was a place I'd love to visit in a dream, but I expected a darker, more adult, twist on the screenplay; perhaps a little exploration into what Absalom was smoking in his hookah, or the cause of the Hatter's madness. Even the Tea Party was a snooze. Good kid's movie, but if you're taking a date or looking for something stimulating, save your money on this one.

Let's start with the two positive aspects of this movie, the Chesire Cat and The Mad Hatter's Make-up/acting. Ok, that is ALL there is good to say! The rest is visually DULL, difficult to hear, and intensely boring! I almost nodded off twice, and that never happens! The movie opens with a very washed out look, and never gets better!!!
Also, a hint to 3D moive makers - the glasses cut down on the amount of light getting to the eyes of the viewers, so don't make 3D moives so dark! I know, I know, Burton moives are dark... This one as just terrible as well.
There were 6 in our group that went, ranging from 22 - 65 and NO ONE LIKED the movie!

I generally like Burton's films, but I do not think this is his best work. The film starts off slow (yawn) whilst setting the period, but picks up in underworld, then ends in an utterly unbelievable real world scenario. pros - lush cinematography, colorful, engaging, great costumes, good makeup (save Depp's, which seems too phony). cons - slow, thin storyline, little character development aside from alice and the hatter; the others are mere caricatures, performances are generally good and lean toward being over the top (deliberately), but Depp underwhelms and Hathaway is simply annoying, the 3D effects are understated, which is ok, but some are poorly rendered. summary - for free, it was ok. for money - wait for dvd or cable.

The movie was good overall. My whole entire family enjoyed it. The 3D previews gave me a bit of a headache but the movie ended up having much less of a 3D effect than the previews...and much less in general than I anticipated...which actually made it enjoyable for me to watch considering the headache issue. I'll have no problem buying it when it comes out on DVD. I can already tell it's a movie my son will watch over and over.

This movie was very entertaining. not as dark as i expected but thoroughly entertaining. It had a feel-good ending and the theatre employees even dressed up in full costumes after the movie.

The introduction and the ending, in total 10 minutes, are entertaining. The fanatsy part in betwwen is way too long for my liking. The 3-D was great though.
