My entire family loved this movie. Arrive early for good seats. We saw 3D and felt it was worth the price, but if you can only see in 2d, don't worry, see it anyway.

I loved this movie and so did my 15 and 9 year old daughters. I think the 3D is totally worth it. I ducked several times! And oohed and aahed a lot! I can't wait to see this movie at least 1 more time at the theater and we will be buying this when it comes out! Tim Burton did a great job. Whimsical with just enough creepy. The references to Looking Glass were great, and of course Alice too. It paid homage to the works, but had enough new parts in it to make it interesting without ruining the spirit of a classic. Johnny Depp was fabulous again(who really thought he wouldn't.) Alan Rickman was a great voice for the caterpillar too. Alice was a good strong character for my daughters when she came back from Wonderland.

First - I wouldn't pay for the 3D effects -- it really wasn't worth it. The only parts that you may have "ooh"d and "aaah"d --the tiny creature was moving so fast I couldn't really follow it in 3D -- many things I wasn't able to se what the creature was. Just don't spend the extra $$ on 3D -- NOTHING really happened. That said, it was still a pretty interesting story; the screenwriter was able to parallel Alice's real life with this 'dream' life. There were about 3 episodes that I don't think a child of 7 would have liked. Not overl gruesome, but definitely Tim Burton-y. ;)

WOW! Finally a movie that kept the ENTIRE family's attention! From the 5 yr old, to the 47 yr old. Loved that it had adult & child humor alike, great story line, and the 3D was AWESOME!! I think some people who have reviewed have mentioned "not enough 3D" - the only thing they can be talking about is the "jump out and get you" 3D, because from the very beginning it's packed full of depth. Alice in wonderland is wonderful! A treat for sense, eyes and spirit! Fantasical characters with a demure, good- natured Alice are a nice contrats.. Loved her pale, blond classic look with zany character life around her. Giant colorful Mushrooms, large human skull rocks in the moat and the dramatic cliff scene at the end all leave permanant memories. Could edit a bit in middle..But loved that Alice became a business woman in the end- such a fun, contemporary twist!

I Loved the part when Alice is crawling and hopping on the heads that the Queen cut off and threw in her moat. Classic Burton. Woolverton did a great job with the script and created a compelling story with the timeless characters for 3D, and had a great parallel symbolism with Alice's fight for independence in dreams and life. Mia is the next great arthouse star, I can totally see it, she's smarter than people realize.

You never really care about the main character, Alice. You get no sense of her having any real inner life. The script is flat and the acting is flat. Zero subtext. No emotional connection between Alice and the Mad Hatter. The formula for every big studio movie now is distract with visual affect, violence or rapid cuts - use it for the trailer, and not care whether the audience connects to the story. The studio's sole objective is widen their margin of profit. Not enlighten or inspire. All movies are now summer movies. The end is especially lame. She just tells the other characters plain, flat "lessons" that inexplicably she's somehow learned. This could have been a new classic by Tim Burton. It's the opposite.

We really enjoyed this movie. Not sure all the tiny ones in the audience should have been there as it was gross and violent in parts. The new 3D made you feel that you were right there in the setting with the characters. Johnny Depp, as usual, was great. He is an amazing actor. i really enjoyed it but still not the best tim burton movie. alice is truly awesome and look forward to seeing her in more future roles. depp kinda phoned this one in for me. i liked the story, the empowered girl was good, but felt the sword thing was overly pushed. it is truly gorgeous and lush to look at and would recommend it on that basis alone.

this movie had a simple story but maybe too simple. the 3d effects were sometimes blurry and seemed that they tried to hard to have 3d effects rather than spending budget on a better story and fight scenes. if you like 3d go ahead and see it. i for one can take it or leaave it, though cost of admission was 12 per ticket for 3d wow expensive .
