Overall, a great movie that teaches the idea that when things become too overwhelming, running away does not help. Instead, take a second, and remember with determination, one can accomplish much more than previously thought.
Even though it has a PG rating, I would not recommend it for anyone younger than 8 or 9 years old; some scenes are little too intense for anyone younger than that. Yes Depp did an excellent job, and Bonham played a fantastic Queen of Hearts, but Wasikowska did an outstanding job playing an older Alice who has become quite the brave and determined woman, but has not lost her youthful charm. The 3D effects were enjoyable but not necessary.

I did expect it to be a little darker than what it was, since it is a Tim Burton film...but it is afterall a Disney production. I loved the affects and how freaky the annimation was. But it isn't too bad to where your kids will have nightmares. My daughter is 7, and she LOVED it. I thought that it was better than the cartoon version. The ending was perdictable, the fight sceen could of been a little more graphic, I think, but it is rated PG; so you can't expect too much from that. Great movie overall!

Excellent, entertaining...especially Johnny Depp (as aways) as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. Could be a bit scary for very small children but no more so than classics like Snow White or Wizard of Oz., although the 3-D version makes it somewhat more realistic and possibly intense for little ones.

Not being a big Tim Burton fan, I took my 5 year old daughter to see this with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie was really good! Helena Bonham Carter was superb as the Queen of Hearts and Johnny Depp, as always, was fantastic. A little creepy and at times frightening for young children but overall a great movie. My daughter LOVED it.

I would like to begin with me having to BEG my husband to join myself and our son to the movie as he was NOT interested at all in seeing it. Honestly, I was a bit apprehensive as I thought it would not be as good as the commercials or as I had anticipated. WRONG!!!!!
We all LOVED IT! We watched the movie in Disney 3D which was perfect. It was not overwhelming and I thought the effects were just right :) I loved the acting, costumes, music, makeup, everything was just dead on! In fact I like it better then the original and I will be purchasing it without a doubt when it comes out. In fact I might go and see it again!
I will recommend this movie to everyone and anyone!

My 2 kids ages 7 and 11 LOVED the movie.
ONLY way to see it is 3D. Movie was just OK but 3D made it very good.

Entire family loved the movie. We spent the car ride home talking about it and our favorite parts. We all liked different parts/characters. Johnny Depp was fantastic! Thought it was fun in 3-D.
