My kids recommended watching the 3D version, they loved it...and I'm right there with them. We had to wait in a really long line, but the wait (and the horrible seats we had behind the safety bar) was worth the move. What a great adaptation to the original story. The characters were fun and the effects were great. I especially enjoyed the Red Queen...but Anne Hathaway as the White Queen was a bit of a stretch---if she was the 'good queen' why did they make her make-up so horrible? She looked odd with the beautiful gown & whiter than white hair with the dark eyebrows and black lips...? Weird.
Nice to know the author's drug trip interpretation could carry along for so many years....

The special effects and the 3D Digital graphics were phenominal. I have never seen 3D this good. Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter was an excellent choice. Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway did great jobs of bringing the characters of the queens to life. Would recommend anyone going to see "Alice in Wonderland", see it in 3D digital. You won't be disappointed! It is worth the price. Amazing!

The movie is worth seeing. Lots of hype and a true "event" movie; however, because its a Burton/Depp collaboration on an all time classic the viewer is expecting a "wow." You won't get that. Helen Bonham Carter gives the true stand out performance, her Red Queen is everything you thought Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter would be (and isn't)...unrepented, unredeemable, over the top, and laugh out loud funny. She steals the movie. Johnny Depp gives a "so-so" performance. The story itself was good, but could have been much better. As for the 3-D, the movie could do without it and Disney needs to take a lesson from "Avatar" with regards to the 3-D glasses. They dont cover your full view. It's what the main complaint about 3-D has always been.

The movie was good, but the glasses were awful. We saw Avitar which was awesome and the glasses were great, These glasses were dirty, cheap, scratched & ill fitting It was not a good experience. The 3D affects were not as good due to the poor quality glasses which were very uncomfortable.

I loved the movie I thought the animation was great, but I thought that the storyline could have been better. I was a little disappointed with all the hype the movie had. My girls loved it. This is the first movie that my youngest daughter has left her 3D glasses on for. She is 4 and we go to the movies a lot. 3-D isn't a must-have on this one, but it was interesting to feel a bit more like I was "in" a Tim Burton world. I couldn't help but feel like both Burton and the Disney overlords made concessions on their individual parts as to how this world would be presented and played out. I was looking forward to the combination of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (and a 3-D "Alice"), but honestly the film that I saw was so annoyingly ugly that I was constantly distracted from appreciating the imaginative visuals. The theatre was equipped with "Disney Dolby Digital 3-D," but the movie was dimly projected, the glasses were dirty (not in a sealed plastic sleeve as in other 3-D experiences), and the 3-D-ness consisted of a sequence of flat layers. Hugely disappointing. I recommend 2-D unless you know this is a DIGITAL projection.

This was a decent film. It had several well done nods to Disney's classic Alice and the inclusion of the Jabberwocky From Lewis Carrols original writings as well as the illustrations as shown in the Oraculum which are from John Tenniel's work are brilliantly envisioned inclusions. The movie itself only skims the surface of Carrols tale which I suppose is in true Disney fashion and the 3D work was far less impressive than Avatar.

Was surprised the 3D was excellent. Story of Alice back in wonderland was a good twist to appeal to the adults as well as kids. Acting was great. Movie was entertainning. I think that maybe my expectations were a little too high and it left me feeling a little disappointed in the end. Overall the 3D effects were very good and I certainly hope that more theaters are planning to update their technology so that we can enjoy the movies closer to home. I found that the character Stain's animation to be jerky and did not seem to flow with the other characters. My daughters 11 & 16, my husband and myself all felt that the character the White Queen's body language to be extremely overexaggerated and ridgid, it would have been better if she came off a little "softer." Overall the graphics were well done. My five year old son loved it and wanted to go straight to Walmart and buy the DVD.

I really liked the twist on the story. Classic and new at the same time. The 3D glasses dimmed the color a bit - making the film darker, but there were some pretty cool 3D moments. HBC was great as the Red Queen and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was divine as usual.

Brought two 14-year-olds and all three of us loved it. Would I watch it in 3D again? Probably not; it was a bit blurry. Hard to tell if it was the movie or the glasses, which had been used a few times before we received them. The movie itself was wonderful , imaginative, creative - definitely plan to see it again before it leaves the theaters!

This was classic Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. A little dark and a little funny. The details and specials effects were great. The costumes were wonderful. Helena Bonham Carter was wonderful as the Queen of Hearts. We really enjoyed all the celebrity voices and had fun trying to guess who they were.

Yes, the movie's visual effects were state-of-the-art, but there was no connection between me and any of the characters. None of the actors were engaging enough to make me connect with the movie. Totally one-dimensional. I also was very surprised at the dark quality of the 3D experience. I saw it in Disney Digital 3D and I wonder if it would've been any better in IMAX. The whole image was too dark. At times, I took off my glasses and actually preferred watching without them for moments when the 3D wasnt evident on screen. I understand the 3D was added in post and not shot with 3D cameras. This may have been the essential difference. Disappointing overall.

Took my 16 and 6 year old surprisingly both enjoyed it. The 3D was crystal clear and believable. Great actors...Mad Hatter, Red Queen, and Alice. The Disney 3D glassed were cool and comfortable. People complained about the bulky IMAX glasses and clarity.

The 3D effects were amazing as were the make up and costumes. Was not the original Alice story that I was expecting which was a nice surprise. Tim Burton & Johnny Depp do it again transporting us to a crazy offbeat world of wonder & amazement with a little bizarre & kooky scariness thrown in the mix. Took nieces ages 7, 8, & 9 & they loved it even giggling while hiding their faces then peeking out to see what they might have missed!
