This really was an outstanding movie. Very few come out that my 18 & 20 yr old sons, wife & I all want to see together and then all enjoy equally. Probably the biggest surprise was the wonderful performance (and transformation) of Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Johnny Depp was his usual outstanding character and please, will someone recognize Helena Bonham Carter as the great actress she is, not just Tim Burton's wife! The only scene I would question for under 12yr olds would be the castle entrance crossing a head filled moat. Time flies by and I was very much pleased that a slight window was left open for the possibility of a return to Wonderland. Great Fun! Go see it!

I enjoyed this revision by Tim Burton. Although, they try to slightly revamp the story a bit, it's still the Alice we pretty much know and love. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter definitely enjoyed their roles, and I feel they did them justice. If you are looking to be blown away, don't. It's just a nice family film leaning toward the slightly older child that's not going to have bad dreams because they saw something kinda scary. All in all, Wonderland is a fun visual journey.

I took my two sons to see the movie. I was really excited from hearing all the reviews, etc. but was a little disappointed after seeing the film.
The visual effects were great but the movie plot and characters itself were rather flat and not very interesting. Plot was hard to follow. The ending was the most exciting part of the entire movie.

This kept me entertained but I wouldn't recommend it for a child under the age of 13 or 14. It had very odd thematic elements but overall it was entertaining! I would suggest my friends definitely see it, just to see how Tim Burton portrays all these characters. Wasn't much like the actual Alice in Wonderland children's movie, but had some fun parts!

"Alice" is monumental visual effort, yet watching never rose much higher than boredom sustained by curiosity. Time drifts forward, distorted; "Alice" seems long but isn't.
At times contrived plot lines and heroic epic are imposed to provide a missing purpose. The story generates restlessness as if movie (and Alice) want to be special but aren't sure how.
The original books showed Wonderland's continued, heartless, off-centeredness with worrisome similarity to the real world a child must one day come to know. In this, the Tim Burton and Linda Woolverton's "Alice" miss; neither Alice's self-anchoring natural feistiness or Wonderland's thorough indifference and pointlessness are allowed to exist.

My husband and I took our 10 year old to see Alice In Wonderland. We had a wonderful time! I found myself squeezing my husband's hand pretty hard at the end. You will not be disappointed! Kept us mesmerized throughout! I have heard in other reviews that Helena Bonham Carter stole the show from Johnny Depp. I would have to say she was entertaining, but there is no actor like Johnny Depp! He was simply amazing! Excellent empowering message at the end! Great movie to discuss with a young one afterward! Don't forget to pre-order your tickets! We got there and the hall was already filled up. Lucky we like to sit in the front row!

I don't know what I went in expecting, but I left feeling like I didn't get it. Johnny Depp's part didn't have the usual flair that he can bring to a movie, and the rest just kind of dragged. It was also frustrating the many parents brought they're young 5-7 year old children to the theater thinking it would be a "disney" movie...but it isn't typical Disney....It's Tim Burton! Big difference! Many children were crying, but mostly they were just annoying, as it didn't keep their interest long.

Wonderland with the Burton flair was quite a sight to behold , if not just a little unnerving. I enjoyed this film and would recommend it to my friends - not so sure about the little ones though, as Johnny Depp played quite the "Madd" Hatter.

This movie was spectacular! 'Hats' off to Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska!! They did a wonderful job portraying their characters in this film! Tim Burton's films just keep getting better!
