Calling this release a "movie" is a little misleading; rather, I think "Michael Jackson's This Is It" is a well-produced collection of rehearsal footage along with interviews of the musicians, dancers, and technicians who were part of the production that was to become MJ's comeback tour.
If I were to call this a movie, it would be more like an IMAX movie [whether shown on an IMAX screen or not], where the focus is on the sights and sounds rather than a particular story.
Overall, the footage provides a great look at how much MJ was really in control of his music as director, and the love he had for his craft [and for the world]. Amazing musicianship [particularly Orianthi Panagaris]!

Amazing to see behind the scenes and feel the love and energy from the entire cast. I started crying when he started singing Man in the Mirror as it is my all time favorite song! Could stop my face from leaking for about an hour after! Definitley want to see this again and would buy the DVD!

How ironic the title.."This is it" It was it in more ways then one !! (little did anyone know) Well I had to block out the thought of him no longer being here as I would have cried throughout the entire film (which I will see again). Amazing human being and performer, truly genius ! 50 and wow how he moves. As I write the tears begin to fall as I can't beleive this is it. Don't wait for a dvd....there is nothing like the big screen. You will be greatly missed and Thanx for all the years you did give us sweet MJ. Loved you from day one! RIP

That is the first word to come to mind. The man was a genius and I couldn't get enough. I was mesmerized by the talent this man possessed even at 51, his moves, his direction was nothing less than genius. I have never seen him in concert (although it was on my bucket list), but have been a fan and supporter throughout his career. Whether you are an MJ fan or not, you will absolutely walk away from this movie with undeniable respect for his talent. Such a loss...I shed a few tears but walked away mesmerized. RIP Michael...I miss you

"This Is It" is a film that allows us as fans to get closer to Michael than ever before. What I watched was a 50 year old man singing, dancing and acting just like he did 30 years ago. He never missed a beat and he looked fantastic doing it. This was certainly shaping up to be the the most spectacular show ever produced.
Michael will be severely missed and this movie is the perfect way for him to say goodbye to his fans. Thank you Michael, for everything.

My best friend and I saw this on opening day and we were blown away. This an awesome behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's greatest entertainers. We laughed and we cried. I can't wait to see it again. It's amazing to see what one man can do and has been doing all his life. It's sad that this concert will never be. It probably would have been his best.

I would love to have seen more of the process of putting this show together. Like more of the audition process. That must have been amazing. The dancers are incredible talent. Jackson is a real original....this show would have been a once in a lifetime opportunity to see...what a spectacle and showcase for a lifetime of original talent in music, showmanship, direction, set design, costuming. What a shame to be cut short so close to seeing it through.

I resisted seeing the movie because it seemed morbid and opportunistic, but I heard so many great things I had to see it - and am very glad I did. It's an absolutely riveting portrait of the creative process in preparing a show which would have been one of the greatest live shows ever. To see how strong, fit and agile Jackson is at 50 (!) is completely amazing. I could have watched him all day. While there's no doubt he was a bizarre person, he was a uniquely talented artist and when you see this film, you're seeing him in complete control of his powers, surrounded by supremely talented - and movingly supportive - musicians, dancers and technicians.

AWESOME!!!! I am so glad and deeply greatful I lived during Michael Jackson's life of creativity, honesty, and the gift he had for love. I too did not want the movie to end. I sat in total awe and without words to express anything I was feeling at the time. My heart was so full of respect and great love for him. So many times my feelings were in my throat and I was breathless. He still amazes all the world. Micheal was the worlds Royalty. The Jackson family is the worlds Royal Family and they have earned it.

This was a fantastic movie. What a shame to loose such a sweet, talented man. His love and kindness is apparent as is his unbelievable muscianship. I cannot believe that after a decade of not performing, he can just pull this off. This would have been an incredible concert. What a loss. Thank you to Michael's estate for putting this together for us to see what we have missed. I am so glad his kids will see how wonderfully talented he was both in vocals and in dancing.

It was great to see Michael in action. It shows him in his true form. I thank his family (both of f and onstage) for allowing us to see this show. He is truly a talented man. I am his age and have loved him forever. His dancing is so inspiring. The dancers he hired were great. I am so glad that I get Michael. He is a kind, gentle soul. We should try to learn from the messages in his songs. He was here for a reason. Several times I just wanted to jump out of my seat and dance. I tensed up during his solos and yelled " Beautiful " at the end. What a tremendous voice. I am happy he was able to show his children what daddy does for work. It's all about love.
