If you ever loved Michael Jackson's music, videos or performances you will love this movie.
Kenny Ortega did a beautiful job of showing us the devotion Michael had to his craft. He was a perfectionist without being a dictator. It was evident the intent of this performance that the world did not get to see was a thank you of sorts to the fans.
When you go to this movie, you have to take your seat, imagine yourself in your bedroom, finishing your MJ mixed tape you made off the radio. Just think about that feeling you had listening to this genius that gave the world so much of himself even when we were all tearing him apart with lies and rumors.
Thank you Michael, I will miss you!

This is it was the most incredible work of art that could only be created through the rare talents of Michael Jackson. He had the unique ability to combine Theatre, Broadway, Sole, Blues, Pop and a little bit of Rock to an old world vintage form. He was just spectacular, from his elegant clothes, his vibrant voice, his humble ways, the beautiful and unique movie sets, and his ability to be creative to the utmost of perfection. I've never bought one of his CDs, so would probably not qualify as a real "fan" but you can't help but appreciate his extraordinary talent. I love to watch his choreography. The movie was well done. Expressive. He was an unusual human being, pretty weird, but I don't know how you could cram that much talent into a normal person. He was amazing. I had to keep reminding myself that he was 50 years old - not 25, like most of his backup dancers probably were.

The movie was basically a look into what the concert would have been, which was awesome. I really didn't enjoy it because I'm not a huge MJ fan. Watching him dance and sing (at a low capacity, bc he was saving his voice for the tour) for two hours is not my idea of a great time. The concert would have rocked. He was a genius. Maybe a documentary about him would suite me better.

I expected a slapped together production that was rushed out the door as soon as possible to cash in on Michaels untimely end.
It was not.
This was a great inside look at the production of MJ's tour-to-be. Great music, great dancing and very positive. From what you see here, Michael was very much in charge of the entire production, teaching dancers the moves, insisting the musicians get the tempo just right and full of energy.

I took my son (BIG MJ fan) to see the movie, not expecting too much myself. I've grown up with the music and appreciate his talent. I walked out of the theater with a sense of profound wonder of his true genius, energy and creativity. I also had a deep sense of sadness that nobody will be able to see what I am sure would have been his best live concert series ever. What a terrible waste that his premature death truly robbed the world of his special talent, wonder and music... :(

MJ was SUCH an “artist”...he was definitely OUT there, and I think, he felt frustrated that no one truly "understood" him! The movie showed MJ in a very positive light...I was concerned they would show MJ deteriorating...but they didn't! Everything was very positive...and I just wanted to get out of my chair and do all the dances...I did learn one thing, MJ's favorite song...was Billie Jean...he got into THAT song the most, just in rehearsal...and he was smiling and dancing his butt off through-out the whole song, almost as if, he was reminiscing about the memories conjured up from when he originally wrote, produced and choreographed the song...AMAZING!

I have already seen "This Is It" more than once. It was beautiful to watch Michael do what he loved best! You forget all about all of the drama the media & tabloids use to overshadow the man & his music. For 2 hours there's nothing but Michael & the magic that is his music. I had a blast watching the movie! It was just what I'd expected.....I got a concert mixed in with out takes and tidbits into Michael behind the scenes. It was nice to see the side of Michael that everyone close to him talked about....him being a perfectionist, him knowing and loving music, and him being a sincerely kind hearted person! It was cool to see the dancers' reactions to being picked and how they too were such big fans of Michael. I truely regret not ever getting the chance to see him in concert. This movie was all I expected and more and I never wanted it to end! What a tragic loss to the entertainment profession. Love you Michael and miss you. xoxo

When I went to see this movie, I had no idea what to expect. What I saw was indeed "Incredible." The feeling and emotions ran from beginnning to end. For this movie just being made out of footage from rehersals, it is unbelievable the final results turned out as they did. To hear Michael sing (in the voice he did as to not strain his vocal cords) only made me imagine what this concert would have turned out to be, because it was so perfect as it was! This movie shows what a brillant, wonderful loving person he was. Although he passed on before the concert was performed thank heavens for this movie. At least everyone can see the true Michael and what he would have accomplished. This really would have been his time to shine!

This is a fitting tribute to a troubled man but a brilliant entertainer. It's all about the show, and WOW it delivers. I was impressed with his dedication and knowledge of everything to do with his music, his choreography and his own moves. It's a real shame we lost this man before we got to see this tour live. I have now seen this movie 4 times and counting. It is amazing to see Michael Jackson behind the scenes and his genius on screen. I have only seen one concert The Dangerous Concert in Romania on HBO. His concerts were always out of this world. But I never knew how they came to be. I really wanted to see his thinking behind the scenes to see how he developed his creations. It was even better than I imagined. MJ is so alive on screen that you forget for a moment he has passed away. His music, concert, music videos, and now this behind the scenes to the greatest concert that never happened is what firmly establishes is undisputed title King of Pop. Go see the movie, you will not regret it.

The video production, the light engineering, the choreography, the pyrotechnics were all cutting edge. The person on the screen was a different person than that of the one displayed in the news. MJ was able to brilliantly communicate through words, sound, dance and technically superb musical skill. It was as if I was looking over someone's shoulder viewing the audtions and rehearsals. This movie was not over produced, it was not contrite, it was not Hollywood! It was a brilliant masterpiece edited with precision. MJ's message was clearly presented. I now have seen with my eyes the intelligence and creativity of a great artist who's soul was filled with music and spirituality and could communicate it with clarity and vision.

This documentary FINALLY allowed MJ to be seen for who he really is: kind, loving, generous, and stunningly talented! I have waited all of my life to see Michael in concert. I grew up with Michael - we are the same age. To see him in action being so hands-on creating such a spectacular perfomance was a blessing for all of his fans, myself included. Michael deserved much better in his life on this earth and this movie is a testament to the wonderful man God created. Thank you for letting us into his world.

When was the last time you went to a movie and said "Where can I buy the DVD?" This was my 4th time (after work), and, Yes, MJ holds a special place in my heart & soul (for half a century). But ,even if you are not an MJ fan, GO..."This Is It" is part of HIStory. Before you go, try to read the lyrics of EarthSong... to really get the "4 years before it is irreversible" part. As always, Michael is (was) the kind, mezmerizing, perfectionist, handing out only hugs and love. I dance more, sing more, pray and thank God more, and maybe... just maybe... the waterworks will stop in time for the AMA awards. If you like the movie, please go to ABC.com & thank Michael by voting. MJ... I love you, MORE!

This movie is a must see even if you're not a fan...It's like the greatest musical. He looked so happy during these rehearsals. This movie shows his genius, his strength, his talent, his sense of humor and most important his love, for the world and for people. You will cry, laugh sing and dance in your seat. Words can not explain how grand this concert would have been. He is truly missed. The world will never have another MJ..God Bless You Michael Jackson!

This movie is outstanding. If MJ would have lived to perform this tour, he would have put on the BEST permformance of not only his life, but to date. He was such an amazing performer, even after a decade of not working, no one could tell. He was the best dancer, best performer in my lifetime.... no one can compare. We will miss him, forever.
