This is an extremly funny movie. I loved that FINALLY the Hispanics and Blacks are portrayed as successful people. The acting was perfect and all of the "racial" steryo-types are evenly funny, This is a MUST see! If you understand spanish, it is even funnier because to can understand the expressions (Sometimes when translated it looses in the translation)! I hope they make a part two! Oh, don't leave until you see the last photos!

Our Family Wedding, did good at the box office for no other reason, than one seasoned actor (Whitaker) and the other actors that are good at their craft. They dragged the story line out and the jokes were not funny, it was very dry. It kept jumping and never quite all came together. I wouldn't suggest going to see it in the movies before paying the BlockBuster fee to rent it in your spare time. Also the racial jokes could have been taken in the wrong way if you are not a person with an open mind.

It reminded me how I had to combine to cultures at my wedding reception. This is a must see movie for all. All Actors and Actress were supreme. My wife and I go to the movie once a week and we saw this movie last night with our 14 year old son. We enjoyed the movie very much. There was no profanity in the movie and no sex, other than the mention of it. There was mild innuendo but nothing crude. The movie made you laugh and it made you think about your relationships: parent/child, siblings, friends, marriage, race, and ethnicity. Forrest Whitaker is one of my favorite actors. I've enjoyed Regina King since 227, and Lance Gross (Calvin from House of Payne) is a phenominal up and coming young actor; he reminds me of Blair Underwood. I enjoyed the movie a lot and would recommend it.

This movie was HILARIOUS! Went to see it w/all my girlfriends and we laughed non-stop at all the bantering and snood remarks between the races. It has a great cast that delivered all the punchlines to the T. Of course it has it's quintessential love story, but definitely the best comedy to start off 2010. Better than Valentine's Day in my opinion. I don't know if any other comedy can top this in 2010.

I would definitely buy this movie, and I am sure I won't get tired of watching it over and over again! :) I believe Spanish speaking people will find this movie a lot more funnier, because not all of the jokes in Spanish are translated to English. Even the jokes in Spanish that are translated into English, aren't sooo funny in English! I went with my bf, and we both could not stop laughing especially in the beginning. Some parts are exaggerated stereo types, and the scenes are sooo FUNNY! Go watch it, it's hilarious!

Sadly "Our Family Wedding" was not as cute or funny as expected. On the premises the movie seemed plausible, but some how the concept was lost in the craziness. Take "Father of the Bride" change the dynamics so that there is a mixed race couple and the groom's father is not only hosting the reception, but also paying for the wedding and you have "Our Family Wedding". "Father of the Bride" was a much better movie.The actors in "Our Family Wedding" appeared awkward as if they did not know or weren't sure what to do. The comedy parts of the movie were more stupid then funny.
