My husband and I thought this was a great movie. Jeff Bridges did a great job depicting the character. We loved the music and bought the CD before we saw the movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to friends. Sad but realistic view of his alcoholic battle.

As we watched "Crazy Heart" it was easy to see why Jeff Bridges has picked up so many awards the past couple of months. Maggie Gyllenhall's performance was spot on, matching Bridges step by step.
A brilliant performance, a compelling story and some good music too. I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I enjoyed this movie except for Colin Ferrell. Jeff Bridges is a true talent, he was so believable and made you feel what he was feeling, the good, the bad and the ugly. Maggie Gyllenhaal was also awesome, A good story, good characters, good music. He can actually sing! Now, Colin Farrell wasn't believable. His part was weird and almost painful in his attempt. I give him kuddos for the accent and the "look" but the singing, not so good. The movie was refreshingly true to life.

I've been a Jeff Bridges fan ever since I saw the Big Lebowski. After seeing that film, I delved into numerous DVD rentals with his in leading & supporting roles. In "Crazy Heart" Bridges not only proves his acting talent is one of the best among Hollywood's finest, but that he belongs among those with Oscar statuettes on their mantels. HIs endearing, yet disease-stricken character will make you smile, wince, frown, and cry, and once the credits role you will have seen an incredibly actor, incredibly play, an ordinary man who has the same quality as all of us...the need to be given love, and a second chance.

The story itself kind of dragged. It was like a day in the life of a washed up country music singer. Jeff did a really good job acting, very believable. Although wardrobe should know that most true Texans wear Wranglers, not Levis. I would wait to see it on DVD.

Jeff Bridges amazes as a wash-up country singer who's still trying to make his way in this world. Music is what he knows and loves but times have changed and rendered him irrelevant. This film is an insightful look at an aging man who little by little bravely faces his demons .... but we get to see HIS heart, not just snapshots in time as is often the case in film like this. Gyllenhaal has given another wonderful perfomance as Bad's muse -- and life 'saver'. Bridges deserves and Oscar!

This is a excellent movie because of Jeff Bridges' performance. He really deserves an Oscar for this role. Who knew he could sing? He does his own singing in this movie, so does Colin Farrell. Don't believe it? Hang around after the movie and watch the credits all the way through. The songs are the last things listed on the credits. Both Jeff and Colin are credited with singing their songs. The movie itself is a little slow at times, but Bridges acting job makes it all worth while. The May-December romance between the Bridges and Gyllienhaal characters is a little hard to buy into, but you soon get use to it. Good movie, go see it.

I liked the movie a lot. It seemed like real life with the alcohol problems and groupies. The interaction of the student to the teacher was real too, most just take fame and forget the teacher. The music wasn't hard core country but more along the line of Waylon Jennings style, which is great. Maybe Jeff can finally win an Oscar.

Despite the familiar story line, this movie is a real gem. Bridges is an actor who makes his performance look effortless and, he's been handed the role of his career.
Bridges is the kind of actor who can find the heart and soul of a broke-down middle-aged man. Maggie Gylenhaal is wonderful as are Colin Farrell and Robert Duvall. The latter has a final fishing scene with Bridges that is very beautiful, physically and otherwise, and hard to forget.
It's a simple, serene moment that feels sprung from real life. Crazy Heart feels that way from beginning to end. An excellent movie that seems not to be noticed by the public. Perhaps, after Bridges wins the Oscar, things will change. I hate country music but I loved this movie!

This movie was good on so many levels. Jeff Bridges became Bad Blake - an excellent character study. My stomach wretched at times, it was so well acted. It was interesting to me that he fell in love with a woman who had a son the same age as his son was the last time he had seen him. I was rooting for him - he did not disappoint.

Jeff Bridges has been hovering on the radar of tone perfect character portrayals in American cinema for many years. He has come close with The Last Picture Show, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Starman in years past. Crazy Heart is his fourth Academy nomination and his best screen performance that has already won him the Golden Globe and the SAG award. I watched the movie this past weekend and have to say: "Bravo!" Mr. Bridges you fully deserve all the accolades and I hope you win what will be a fully deserved Oscar this year. Crazy Heart also satisfies in other respects. It is very nicely directed and has some excellent supporting portrayals (Maggie Gyllenhaal and Colin Farrell). Excellent movie in every way with a great music score to boot.
