This film is for you if you desire something that will keep you engaged and thinking. As other reviewers have mentioned cinematography is excellent on top of a very solid story though there are times that it seems to add in unneeded elements.

Joon-ho Bong just became one of my favorite directors with this creative, unusual masterpiece of film-making. The 128 minutes flew by. This movie has so many textures - takes so many fascinating twists and turns - it has more superior plot, dialogue, pacing, editing and cinematography than any movie that I have seen yet this year. Did I mention the cinematography? Amazing! Gorgeous! There are at least 8 cinematic scenes where the camera shows us things we rarely see - these visuals alone are worth the price of admission. This film will hold you in it's power as it builds towards a great ending....and then - at the end - it will grab you by the nape of your neck and give you a good shake! Marvelous film-making! Bravo to all involved!

Absolutely marvelous story telling. Photograpyhy at its best, of people and landscape. A totally absorbing plot, with excellent character representation. This movie is one of best I've seen.

Yet an excellent movie as far as production, direction, and action. I found the plot to be over complex and the entire story line forced with elements that diverged from the central thrust of the story and barely related to the mystery.
