Wow! What a film, I don't like film with the jumps and the scary sections; however, this one was worth my time. The music, scenery, wardrobe all carefully contributed to a dark and chilling mood. I enjoyed the characters and the story was gripping. Not a fan of possession films, but I hope everyone takes the time to see this film.

I went to watch this movie with very low expectations. With that said I enjoyed it it was a pretty enjoyable movie and it's above average for sure. The plot was different and pretty interesting. I really like period pieces that are done well my favorite part was is that the actors did not try and do the accents of the time and stuck with the English they knew. It really reminded me of an old Hollywood movie.

This movie has good special effects, but does not rely entirely on them as so many movies today do. Nicholas Cage did a great job as a dissaffected knight forced to do a job he wasn't interested in doing, as did Ron Perlman and the rest of the cast. Overall, the movie was fair although it had potential to be so much more. This type of movie shouldn't end in 90 minutes! There was definitely some "meat" missing from the storyline. Typical: Nicolas Cage did not disappoint as an actor, however, the story ended too quickly ... it was "too easy" from start to finish and somewhere in the beginning, the starting plot of the movie was never addressed! I would recommend it but as a "proceed with caution".

Good story line. Bit of a plot twist at the end which was unexpected. Special effects are believable. The movie has good atmosphere and utilizes it to good effect.

The first part of the movie should have been narriated by the girl if your going to narrate at the end. There should have been a hint of the tie from the begaining to the end and that was left off. This movie could have been a 2 1/2 hour epic and it turned in to 1 1/2 hr choped adventure. A waste of both Ron Perlman's and Nicholas Cage's talents. I hope the director reviews this and redoes a "Directors Cut" and releases's a better version on DVD. This one goes in the "I should have waited for the $5.00 DVD" to go on sale.

Nicolas Cage is an excellent actor. He played his role to the T in this movie. The movie was not what I expected. It turned out to be better than what I anticipated. Ron Perlman is a great actor as well. Nicolas & Ron seem to put their all into these characters. Kudos to the both of them as well as Claire Foy. Great action and adventure. This movie kept you interested and wanting more.

No stars should be granted to this poor excuse for entertainment. This is the worst movie I have seen in years! The dialog is inane; the plot is ridiculous. The special effects are completely predictable and absolutely silly. I cannot imagine anyone with half a brain finding it entertaining at all. If I hadn't been invited to go by some friends, I would have walked out after the first five minutes. My advice? Sitting at home twiddling one's thumbs would be far more productive than forcing oneself to endure this garbage. And, the money squandered on this could have been put to better use buying Lotto tickets (the poor man's retirement fund). Hollywood's adage is that movies released in January are nearly always bad, and this one was absolutely no exception to that rule. It doesn't deserve even a B--- rating. Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman are probably praying that their participation in this disaster will be quickly forgotten and does not hamper their careers.

I agree the script was weak, ending weaker. Liked the story line but the anachronisms drove me a little crazy. Can't see 13th or 14th Century Knights saying "let's get the hell out of here" or "just like cockroaches."
Still, I thought Nick Cage and Ron Perlman did a good job. Thought Claire Foy was outstanding, showing excellent range of emotion and absolutely haunting facial expressions.
Not a great film or epic story but not a total waste of time, especially if you're just looking to be entertained.
