It's an "ok" movie with medium size popcorn and a large Coke, but to me, it seemed more like a very light "made for TV" one hour special that lasted 36 minutes too long.

It was my guy's last night home; he'd spent 18 mos in Iraq & Afganistan and was going back for more. We laughed! Enough romance to keep me happy, enough Tim Allen comedy to make him amazed at his good fortune for a great memory to bring back to his sub-zero tent the next day. Glad Scottsdale was one of the 10 cities!

Tim plays a white collar criminal, just out of jail, trying to get his life back in order. He's a good actor, and the story is quite realistic in that it's somewhat semi-autobiographical>he's "been there" and knows the struggle and the strength it takes to avoid temptation. Jeanne Tripplehorn plays both his parole officer and his love interest; Sigourney Weaver is excellent as the protective big sister, and Ray Liotta is a bad guy. The scene stealers, however, are the kid, played by Kenton Duty, and the two parolees who work at the "Pirate Burger". The movie was really enjoyable; a few curse words and some s. innuendo, but no hard-core violence, no obnoxious special effects-just a good story with good characters.

The standup performance was solid, not great, though as the host who introduced him said, he hadn't done standup for a while and seemed a little nervous.
The movie itself was also solid, but not great. The cast *was* great, but it was not a laugh out loud type of movie. More a chuckle here and a grin there.

Saw Tim Allen's "Stand Up and Show It" tour. He did stand up comedy before movie and then we watched premiere. I thought the movie was very funny, my wife and I enjoyed it. It seems like PG-13 is a very liberal rating. It pushed the inappropriate for teens category a couple times. Other than that it was a very funny movie. Not a big Sigourney Weaver fan, but she was a great part of the movie.
The stand up was funny, but again very inappropriate for younger audience members, I was frankly dissapointed by the language.
