This was the first time I had watched an HD Movie from the Met. I loved it....of cource I love opera. The feeling of actually being their was very interesting. I like the opening when people were taking their seats, the intermissions and the finale curtain.
This was a beautiful opera and Renee Fleming was wonderful. I had seen her in person in a recital. The story was fun - who doesn't like a good witch?

There were many unusual features to this Opera. I really liked the ballets which incorporated singing as well as dancing into the action. The singing was wonderful and the acting too and the intermission features were very enlightening as always.

The most fabulous one I've seen yet from the Met- Rossini and Lawrence Brownlee and Renée Fleming; the entire cast, orchestra and conductor and production deserve all the praise and applauding they received. What a privilege to watch.

Despite the pieces of plotless plot (that's opera), the performers engaged us with attention holding drama. The singing by itself is enough to justify the production. The staging is is appropriate and and serves to frame the troublesome ballet. We have also encountered poor projection and sound glitches in HD theatres. Fortunately the May 19 presentation at the Randolph Showcase was was professionally managed

It was a wonderful experience until -- close to the end just before the dramatic final aria, the theater wasn't paying attention and the screen went dead followed by a lot of technical gobbledy gook.
Inexcusable.

Terrific opera. Wonderful singing and acting by Renee Fleming and Lawrence Brownlee. Even Mary Zimmerman achieved redemtion after the two dreadful productions she previously did for the MET. With the DVD sure to follow, I hope this opera will get better known. Congratulations to all.

Armida was well sung and acted and I enjoyed the experience of watching the performance on the big screen. I wasn't too fond of the long Act 2 ballet, but otherwise enjoyed it quite a lot.
I'd recommend it on DVD or if it is shown again on the big screen.

I saw the Saturday afternoon showing and had to go back and see the encore performance. I brought three of my friends with me, who also thought it was wonderful. The singing was wonderful and the ballet was the best opera ballet any of us had ever seen. Hope they make a DVD of this opera, or at the least, a CD. The duets were so beautiful it would be a shame not to be able to hear them again. This is a classic!
