My husband was dreading this chick-flick type movie, but he ended up really liking it! He related to a lot of the male characters; and even through the immense amount of humor, we both managed to take a few relationship lessons with us when we left. I do, however, recommend trying to sit in a more secluded area during this show, either to the side or in the balcony (if your theater has a one). This movie seems to attract "the young and the restless"!

Clearly I was in a different movie than the others who saw this movie and liked it. It was horrible. A huge cast with no story. I'm sure all this cute stuff happens on someone's Valentine's Day, and based on the audience in our theater, guys will do anything to make their significant other happy on V-Day, myself included. This movie is cruel and unusual punishment. Hats off to all the couples who endured it.

I have NO idea what movie these critics saw but the Valentine's Day movie we saw was GREAT! I loved how they introduced characters and then tied them in either right away or later. It was very tastefully done with very little bad language and no gratuitous nudity. And it didn't need it at all. Thanks for a quality film for couples, singles, families,and grandparents. :)

Professional critics panned Valentine's Day as shallow and rehashed. But critics are never happy; they're not paid to be. However, we enjoyed this movie as the date night escapism for which it was written. I was thinking before I went in to the move that with all of the star in it that it would be an overload. I surprised and happy that it was not. I did though have trouble keeping with the numerous story lines that the movie was showing us. In the end though everything became clear. It had its funny moments that even us guys will laugh at. I really appreciated the reverse of gender roles, seeing Kutcher's character as a sappy romantic while Alba wants her career. My boyfriend thought that Kutcher's role was "gay" - he thinks that because that is not how men are usually portrayed in films, which is exactly why we need more broken gender roles like this one! Loved the professions of women as well, Julia Roberts who once played a prostitute in a Marshall film is now portrayed as an American soldier. Hathaway, a phone sex operator, this is done so well throughout the film. She is smart, hysterical, and in the end apologizes for just the right thing, and triumphantly does not for the rest. Overall it's a fun flick; I would love to see Diablo Cody and Marshall work together!
